Recently, 40-year-old Kunwar Dhruv Raj Singh, who is a descendant of the old Rajput noble family of Doongri, tied the knot with 35-year-old Countess Marie von und zu Eltz. However, it was the couple’s rainbow-hued wedding that stole the spotlight. In fact, the pair’s wedding venue, St. Paul's Conversion Church, is rooted in rich traditions.
According to reports, Kunwar Dhruv Raj Singh got married to Countess Marie von und zu Eltz on July 12, 2026, in Austria. The Indian-European couple chose St. Paul's Conversion Church as their wedding venue. It is worth mentioning that St. Paul’s Conversion was a popular site for pilgrims during medieval times. The royal pair celebrated their big day last weekend in the mountains of Bad Aussee just beneath the Ramsau ski lift.
The couple’s civil wedding beautifully blended traditional Indian culture and classic European bridal fashion. At their civil wedding, Marie dazzled in a classic white silk satin gown. It featured a fitted bodice with a wide V-neckline flanked by soft, draped off-the-shoulder fabric sleeves. She also sported a bridal veil and completed her bridal look with diamond stud earrings and a necklace. While Kunwar kept his look entirely royal by wearing a long, knee-length, tailored navy blue sherwani and sported a rainbow-hued turban.
The groom wore a light-blue neck ribbon hosting a royal medal and sported a ceremonial royal sword. For the Hindu wedding ceremony, Kunwar was dressed in a traditional white sherwani and a red turban, while his bride, Marie, was wearing a red sari. From sacred Hindu rituals to a church ceremony in the Austrian Alps, the Indian-European couple’s wedding is a perfect example of royal tradition.
The bride, Countess Marie von und zu Eltz, hails from a famous European royal and noble family. She is the daughter of Count Peter von Eltz and Princess Gina of Quadt-Wykradt-Isny. Marie’s great-grandfather's father was King Ludwig III of Bavaria, the last king of Bavaria in Germany. She is also related to the Vanderbilt family, one of America's richest and most influential families. The bride’s grandmother, Countess Ferdinandine, was the daughter of Gladys Vanderbilt, who was the first cousin of Consuelo Vanderbilt, the Duchess of Marlborough.
The groom, Kunwar Dhruv Raj Singh, comes from a respected Indian royal family. He is the son of Colonel Bhawani Singh of Doongri and Shivina Kumari. He belongs to the Rajput royal family of Doongri, an old noble family from Rajasthan. In fact, Kunwar is a distant cousin of the Maharaja of Jaipur, and the duo shares a close friendship. If reports are to be believed, the newlyweds share a 5-year age gap. While Kunwar is currently 40, Marie is 35.
From guests to wedding venue decor, everything in Kunwar and Marie’s wedding had a royal touch. In fact, it is a beautiful fusion of East and West. Recently, American fashion designer Phoebe Dahl, the granddaughter of famous author Roald Dahl, shared a wholesome video on her Instagram handle with the text atop 'Jaipur goes to Austria.' She captioned the post as:
"Fairytales do exist & sometimes they look like a tiny town in Austria transformed by the colours, joy, and spirit of Jaipur."
Many royals and noble families from Europe and India attended the couple’s wedding. Some of the guests included The Duke of Noto, who served as one of the official witnesses at the wedding, Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur and Princess Gaurvi Kumari.
