For the unversed, on March 11, 2026, Kritika Kamra and Gaurav Kapur tied the knot in an extremely private ceremony. Following this, the couple hosted a grand reception in Mumbai. In a recent interview, Kritika revealed the reason behind keeping her relationship with Gaurav private.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Kritika Kamra revealed that she had been extremely guarded about her personal life. The Matka King actress shared that she grew up in the public space and initially didn’t know that whatever is said remains on the internet forever. But with time, she learned it. She clarified that it was absolutely intentional to keep her relationship with Gaurav Kapur private. Kritika highlighted that it was important to keep the relationship protected, and thus, she also kept it hidden when people asked her relationship status. Kritika was quoted as saying:
"It was absolutely intentional because I wanted it to be. I’ve been so guarded about my life, my personal life, all my life actually. I’ve literally grown up in the public space, I started acting when I was 18. In the beginning, I didn’t even know these things, because you’re reckless. You say anything, you do anything. Everything is on the internet forever. I learned it the hard way that there’s some things that have to be just your own, and you kind of have to protect that and so many interviews and stuff people would ask me about my relationship status when will you get married."
During the same conversation, Kritika shared that she never said anything about her and Gaurav’s relationship until December 2025 because she was very sure about going to the hard launch only when it was the right time. Kritika mentioned that when she and Gaurav were heading towards marriage, they made the decision to make it public. The Matka King actress was quoted as saying:
"I never said anything because I was very sure in my head that I’m only going to hard launch when it is a proper like when it is. Eventually, we had arrived at that, point in our relationship where I was like, ‘OK, I’m now happy to introduce this part of my life to the world’ because obviously if you’re going to get married, it’s not gonna be like, what are we going to run away or anything."
The dating speculations involving Kritika Kamra and Gaurav Kapur began in late 2025. It is worth mentioning that before finding love in each other, the duo had relationships with different partners. Kritika was in a relationship with her Kitani Mohabbat Hai co-star, Karan Kundrra, while Gaurav was married to Kirat Bhattal. After months of dating speculations, Kritika made her relationship with Gaurav Insta-official on December 10, 2025. In a recent interview with Manifest India, Gaurav recalled his first phone call with his now-wife, Kritika. He was quoted as saying:
"I remember the first time we spoke very clearly. We talked for an hour, and it was just easy. What surprised me was her calmness. I’m very reactive, very instant, and she has a long view on life. We complement each other that way. Commitment now means having her back always, making sure she can be the best version of herself. She’s the plane — I just try to be the tailwind pushing her forward."
