According to reports, she has temporarily lost primary physical custody of her four children, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Kroy Biermann. It was in May 2010 that Kim Zolciak and her now-ex-husband, Kroy Biermann, met for the first time. As seen on a Season 3 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, they crossed paths at a Dancing Stars of Atlanta charity event. For those unaware, Kim had attended the event to show her support for her RHOA costar, Sheree Whitfield, who has been competing alongside Kroy.
After Kroy's performance was over, Kim approached him and said, “Can I just be honest with you? I've never in my life seen an ass like that.” Interestingly, Kim even told him to turn around, and Kroy quickly obliged. Later, the former Atlanta Falcons tight end joined her at her table, where they exchanged phone numbers.
On May 31, 2011, just a year after they first met each other, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann had their first child. They lovingly named their son, Kroy ‘KJ’ Jagger Jr. Announcing his birth, the reality TV star wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “[Kroy Biermann] and I are happy to announce the birth of our son today. For those unaware, the duo got engaged in October 2011. Kim announced the news on social media, writing, “I am happy to announce that Yes @biermann71 and I are engaged! I'm on a cloud and so blessed!!”
A month after they announced their engagement, Kim and Kroy tied the knot on November 11, 2011. The duo had a truly elaborate and lavish ceremony, which got televised on her reality show, which was initially called Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding. Fast forward to November 18, 2021, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. For the special occasion, the duo decided to go on a trip to the Bahamas. Posting pictures from the sake, Kim called it the “best little gateway” and said that they had the most incredible time.
Kim and Kroy surprised fans when they filed for divorce in May 2023.
