North West made her solo music festival debut at Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash 2026. Kim Kardashian cheered her 12-year-old daughter while Kanye West was visibly absent.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's 12-year-old daughter, North West, surprised everyone by performing solo at a musical festival for the first time. The music festival in question was Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash 2026. Additionally, what caught attention was that both Kanye and Kim showed their support to North as she rocked on stage.
It was on Friday, June 12, 2026, that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter, North West, made her solo music festival debut. She was reportedly seen performing at Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash 2026 music festival in Bridgeview, Ill. Kim made sure to share glimpses from the event with her followers on social media. In one photo, Kim posted a snap of the backstage passes, which had North's face on them alongside the words, “Stage 3…North West.” In other clips shared by Kim, North can be seen performing on stage at the music festival while the crowds cheered her on.
For her first live solo performance, North chose to wear head-to-toe Balenciaga featuring a plated mini skirt, sweater, and chunky black sneaker boots. Turning the style from preppy to goth, North accessorised the outfit with a spikey bracelet, chunky black sneaker boots, and huge black sunglasses. However, what caught everyone's eyes was North's hair, which was dyed blue and pulled up into high pigtails.
While Kanye West was visibly absent during North West's performance at the music festival, he did show his support by reposting a clip on his Instagram Stories. In the video, North can be seen performing their 2024 collaboration, TALKING from their album, Vultures 1, while fans chanted the lyrics.
Apart from Kim and Kanye, the former's stylist, Dani Levi, shared several behind-the-scenes footage on her social media. This includes a photo of her and North posing together backstage and then walking around the festival grounds. In another clip that she posted, North can be seen performing onstage.
While North West's solo performance at the music festival has had people talking, it is worth noting that this comes just six weeks after she released her debut EP, N0rth4Evr, on May 1, 2026. During her music festival appearance, North sang several songs from this EP as well as her 2024 collaboration with Kanye, TALKING. In her titular debut single, there is a significant pop-rock edge while the lyrics hint at the pressures of growing up in the spotlight. North sings, “Forever and always, I don't listen, but they talk about me all day,” reflecting the scrutiny that she faces daily while being part of one of the most famous families.
At the time, North's family showed their support for her new journey as a musician, including her uncle, Rob Kardashian, aunt, Khole Kardashian, and grandmother, Kris Jenner. They shared several posts which showed them streaming and listening to her music. A few days after the release of her EP, North also appeared for a surprise performance at the Rolling Loud music festival in Florida, joining rapper, Molly Santana, along with her father, Kanye West.
North West is the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. She has three siblings, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Although she is young, North has confidently stepped into her own spotlight despite the constant criticism that she faces. Most recently, North was criticised after she was pictured with piercings placed under one eye, on the bridge of her nose, and on her fingers. However, the 12-year-old shook off the hate by posting a TikTok as she mimed to the sound, “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together.” North captioned the post:
“This is for everyone that's mad over a finger piercing.”
