Though the duo has remained tight-lipped about their alleged relationship, they often drop sly hints on the fact that something is brewing between them. For the unversed, rumours mills were abuzz since the day Vicky flirted with Katrina on the stage of an award show, where they were present to announce the winner's name.
Not only that, but Vicky is also quite often spotted sneaking in at Katrina's apartment while trying to get away with the attention of the media. From making public appearances at movie screenings to Diwali party, the couple is making their fans speculate about their relationship. On October 15, 2021, Vicky and Katrina were spotted in Mumbai while entering into a venue in Mumbai for the special screening of the actor's upcoming film, Sardar Udham.

On October 16, 2021, Katrina Kaif shared an unfiltered review of her rumoured beau, Vicky Kaushal's film, Sardar Udham and also heaped praises on the film's director, Shoojit Sircar. Taking to her IG stories, the Tiger Zinda Hain actress shared the film's poster featuring Vicky and wrote, ''@shoojitsircar what a vision, such a gripping beautiful film, pure unadulterated storytelling - @vickykaushal is just pure talent, raw, honest, heartbreaking.'' She also added a ''Watch Now'' sticker atop it.
A few days back, Vicky Kaushal had visited The Kapil Sharma Show for the promotion of his then-upcoming movie, Sardar Udham. During his stint, the host, Kapil Sharma, had taken a jibe at him and had shown him a news clipping stating that he had sneakily visited Katrina Kaif to avoid the media. However, in reply to the news clipping, the Masaan actor had hidden his face in embarrassment. The headline of the news clipping could be read as ''Katrina se milne ke liye media ko yun chakma dete hain Vicky Kaushal. Padosiyon ne kiya bhandafod.''

In order to pacify the audience, the host, Kapil Sharma had said that he is not sure about the credibility of the news and had said, ''We don't know how true this story is but they are trying to add fuel to the fire.” On hearing that, the guest of the show, Archana Puran Singh had told him that he was also doing the same. Replying to her, Kapil said, ''Main bata raha hu paaji ko yaar, mera bhai hai.'' However, in reply to Kapil's answer to Archana Puran Singh, Vicky said, ''Aisa bhai kisi ko na mile bhai.''
In an interview with SpotboyE, Vicky's younger brother, Sunny Kaushal had revealed his family's reaction to his engagement rumours with Katrina Kaif. Sunny had shared that his family had burst into laughter on reading the reports and had asked Vicky to treat them with sweets. He had said, “I remember that Vicky had gone to the gym in the morning when the rumours started coming. So, when he returned home, mom and dad funnily asked him, "Arre yaar, teri engagement ho gayi, mithai to khila de." Vicky replied, "Jitni asli engagement hui hai, utni asli mithai bhi kha lo."
