Renowned actress, Karishma Tanna is going through one of the best phases of her life. For those unaware, she is expecting her first child with her husband, Varun Bangera. Amid this, on Friday, May 22, 2026, Karishma took to her Instagram handle to share a glimpse of her Tulu-style South Indian baby shower with her 13.4 million followers.
A while ago, Karishma Tanna posted a video on Instagram, in a joint post with her husband, Varun Bangera. In the video, the actress can be seen looking stunning in a traditional pastel pink saree and gold jewellery. Meanwhile, her husband looked dapper in a white kurta. In one portion of the video near the end, Karishma even receives a sweet kiss from Varun on her forehead after she remarked that she is feeling both nervous and happy. Posting the video, the actress wrote, “Still soaking in the love, blessings, and emotions from our very first South Indian style Godh Bharai together.” For those unaware, Varun comes from a Mangalorean background, while Karishma is Gujrati.
In the caption, Karishma further wrote that she felt truly magical getting to witness the beautiful Tulu rituals, sacred traditions, mantras, flowers, sarees, and every little custom so up close. According to her, it was like living in a dream that they had only imagined. She added:
“From the poojas and family blessings to the warmth and love in every ritual, the entire day felt so pure, emotional, and deeply special for both of us and our little baby. A dream come true in the most beautiful, traditional way. Our hearts are full. Feeling deeply grateful, protected, pampered, and surrounded by love as we step into this beautiful new chapter together.”
Within just a few hours of Karishma Tanna posting the adorable video from her baby shower, fans began taking to the comment section to shower their love on the actress. An Instagram user wrote, “Absolutely unique and divine vibes loads of pure love. Congratulations to the whole family.” Another wrote, “Congratulations and so good to see Mangalorean baby shower.” A third user penned, “Blessings to you & the baby for a safe & pain free delivery & a healthy cutie baby. Congratulations Nani & Dadi.”
One user, sharing insight on the Tulu culture, wrote, “It's called ‘bayake’ in our Tulu culture. God bless the mumma and baby. Loads of love and blessings.” Another predicted the baby's gender and wrote, “Looks like a baby boy bump.” A comment read, “You can almost feel the emotions through the post. Wishing you so much love for this beautiful new chapter!”
It was in 2021 when Karishma Tanna and Varun Bangera began dating. After one year of courtship, the duo tied the knot in 2022 in Mumbai. Their wedding celebration spanned multiple days, including pre-wedding ceremonies such as haldi and mehendi, followed by the main wedding ceremony and a reception. According to reports, apart from the duo's families, their close friends from the film and TV industry were also present during the wedding.
For those unaware, in April 2026, Karishma took to her Instagram to post a series of adorable snaps to announce her pregnancy. She captioned the pictures, “A little miracle, our greatest gift, August 2026,” followed by a pink heart and a bow emoji. Her announcement saw an outpour of love and congratulatory messages from her fans and celebrities alike.
On the work front, Karishma had last starred in the film, Lahore Confidential in 2021 and the Netflix web series, Scoop in 2023. In 2024, the actress also made a cameo appearance in Ananya Panday's web series, Call Me Bae.
