Kamaal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK, is an Indian actor and social media personality. He is a frequent subject of online chatter primarily due to his provocative statements as a self-proclaimed film critic. Besides his online activities, KRK is also infamous for his frequent legal entanglements. On January 23, 2026, news of his arrest surfaced, with netizens wondering what new controversy the actor got himself entangled with. Recent reports suggest that Kamaal was detained by the Mumbai police for shooting at a residential building.
Kamaal R. Khan was arrested by the Mumbai Police on January 24, 2026, for firing rounds at a residential building in the Oshiwara area of Andheri West. On January 18, 2026, shots were fired from KRK's bungalow towards a nearby mangrove forest. However, at least two bullets struck Nalanda Society, a residential building on Lokhandwala Back Road. Officials from the State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Kalina, were also called to examine the site. On January 23, 2025, KRK was detained late Friday night.
KRK was formally arrested the following morning after forensic teams linked the projectiles found in the building to his licensed firearm. The bullets were recovered from the building's second and fourth floors. Impact marks were found on the walls, and a wooden case was found inside one of the flats; however, no casualties were reported. During police interrogation, Kamaal reportedly admitted to discharging the weapon but claimed it was unintentional. He stated that he was cleaning his gun and fired towards the mangroves to check its functionality, believing the bullets would land harmlessly.
However, unexpectedly, the bullets hit a residential building, leading to chaos. As a result, the police have seized his licensed weapon and registered a case for firing in a public residential area. Besides forensics, several other factors have been taken into account before Kamaal R Khan's formal arrest. Many of the society's residents have been questioned by the police to understand the situation. Additionally, CCTV footage from surrounding areas was examined to obtain a clearer picture of what actually happened and to verify KRK's statement.
