Bollywood actress Kajol revealed how she fixed her bond with her daughter, Nysa. There was a time when she and her daughter, Nysa, actually had a very difficult relationship
Bollywood stars, Kajol and Ajay Devgn have been married since 1999, and both are parents to- Nysa and Yug Devgan. Well, now Kajol has admitted she had a lot of struggles as a Gen Z parent to her daughter, Nysa. Kajol admitted it took her three years to repair her bond with Nysa, as they had many fights during that time. She revealed the challenges of raising Nysa and remembered the time when they had a difficult time together because of many disagreements.
Bollywood actress, Kajol, sat down for a podcast conversation with Lilly Singh and revealed there was a time when she and her daughter, Nysa, actually had a very difficult relationship. This is due to the frequent disagreements they used to have. She spoke about how she navigated parenting and how it kind of reshaped her relationship with her daughter. Kajol spoke about Gen Z parenting hacks and opened up about her bond with Nysa. She did admit that both of them had to do a lot of work, and that Kajol had to have many talks with her daughter. The actress had to talk her through things. Kajol revealed how she started fighting less with Nysa and started talking to her. In her words:
"It’s a relationship that we had to build. Hormones hit, and she was 12. And we were all over the place. We were fighting, and we were both irrational at times. We were both illogical at times. Being the adult, I stood up, and I said, I should be a little more rational. I decided that I am not going to fight with her that much; I’m going to try and talk to her. As much as I can talk at her till she starts listening to me. And work with her."
Kajol admitted that she had to struggle for three years while parenting Nysa, and her biggest lesson was that it was more about sitting down and listening to her daughter. Kajol revealed that it was not about talking a lot but giving her daughter the space to be herself. Kajol revealed:
"We both struggled for nearly three years. Both of us were like, I don’t want to listen to you, I don’t want to talk to you. But eventually it became conversations, long conversations. Then I realised that it was more about just me sitting down and listening to her. That was my biggest learning."
Kajol often, in her interviews, has revealed that her daughter, Nysa, who turned 23 recently, is not at all interested in acting. Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Kajol mentioned that her daughter, Nysa, had already made up her mind not to join the entertainment industry. The Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge actress speaking on the nepotism debate revealed of how every industry has the good and bad. In her words:
"When you enter the film industry, you have to realise that there are pros and cons, and you will be subjected to scrutiny. Some of it is harsh, some of it is ridiculous and horrible, but it is all part of your growth and journey. It is something that everyone has to face. It's not something you have a choice about.”
On the work front, Kajol was last seen in the 2025 movie, Maa and the Prime Video movie, Sarzameen. She had played the role of a mother interestingly in both movies. Kajol also hosted the talk show called, Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle. It had Akshay Kumar's wife, Twinkle.
