Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy’s love story dates back to 2005

Jim Carrey’s name has been linked to a lot of popular faces from the entertainment industry. However, Jim’s only relationship that lasted the longest was with Jenny McCarthy. Us Weekly stated that the duo reportedly met for the first time in 2005. The pair made the romance official in 2006 and appeared together at an L.A. Radiohead show, holding each other’s hands.

Jim and Jenny continued appearing at various events over the next few years. In 2006, they were seen together at the U.S. Open. While they never opened up on the plans to get married, Jenny McCarthy said in an interview with People magazine that she does not need a paper to prove her commitment. Jenny’s son, Evan, slowly started accompanying the duo on different occasions, including a beach outing in 2009 and the premiere of Horton Hears a Who in 2008.

Jim’s representative, Marleah Leslie, confirmed the news at that time. Jenny shared a separate statement, saying that she was grateful for the years she spent with Jim. Jenny added that Jim will always remain the “leading man” in her heart, and she will continue being an important part of the life of Jim’s daughter, Jane Erin Carrey.

For the unversed, Jim and Jenny shared a close bond before their split since Jenny’s son, Evan, was battling autism, and Jim was always present for Evan. Jenny revealed the same when she appeared for an interview in 2007, saying that Jim played a “wonderful” role in the life of Evan. In the same interview, Jim credited Evan for helping him to see the “greatness of Jenny’s spirit.” Although experts alleged that Evan’s autism led to Jim and Jenny’s separation, the duo never responded to the claims.

In 1997, Jenny also started The Jenny McCarthy Show, which aired for only one season. She relaunched the same show in 2013, and it met with the same fate as the first. 

Jenny’s first feature film was Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead, released in 1995. Over the years, Jenny McCarthy became famous for playing various characters on shows like Home Improvement, Just Shoot Me!, The Drew Carey Show, Less Than Perfect, One on One, and more. She has been a part of some popular TV shows, including Two and a Half Men, Sesame Street, Chuck, and The View. Back in 2000, she played 'Sarah Darling' in Scream 3 and was later seen as 'Katie' in Scary Movie 3 in 2003.
