Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleAn Indian woman took things into her own hand when her husband lost his job at Orcale where he worked for the past 12 years. However, it was a strange way of firing as he found out about losing his job when he wasn't able to sign in. The wife named Pooja Sahu took to LinkedIn and shared a long post calling out Orcale for their major round of layoffs without worrying about their employees.
The Indian work culture requires loads of hard work, and it forces you to work even on your holidays. Recently, Oracle conducted a major round of layoffs as they reduced their 21,000 employees earlier this year. Now, Pooja Sahu, whose husband, Saurabh Sahu, worked for Oracle for the past 12 years, was fired from his position without any prior notice or communication.
Pooja took to her LinkedIn account and called out the company for the way they fired her husband. Her post sparked conversation about workpalce loyalty, burnout, and whether employees should sacrifice their personal lives for a job which has no security. Pooja shared that her husband was fired from his job. He found out about it when he was unable to log in to his system. She wrote:
"My husband Sourabh lost his job today. After working for Oracle for 12 years, all he got was being unable to log in to his system to get the news. I have never seen a person so hardworking and dedicated to his work."
Pooja further revealed that her husband kept working even when she was admitted for surgery to remove her polyps. Not only this, but he worked during their vacation to New Mexico. He would also work on Holi, Diwali, Rakhi and other festivals. She wrote:
"He continued working from the hospital while I was admitted for surgery to remove my polyps. We were on vacation in New Mexico, and he was on call while I was driving. He worked during Holi, Diwali, Rakhi, and other festivals, as well as on birthdays, anniversaries, and weekends. A few weeks ago, we adopted a dog, and he took care of her while working through the night until 3 a.m., to the point of falling ill."
Pooja mentioned that no one can understand how much blood and sweat he had poured into his job and the way he worked under immense pressure with a smile on his face. He was there to help everyone around him, and he never cribbed about the same. Pooja revealed that her husband has been part of the IT industry for two decades and has won the Best Employee Award.
Netizens also shared their thoughts on the same. One user penned that when your role in a company ends, you are no longer a part of it. The user added, "Here is the ugly truth and no one will tell you, but I will. It doesn't matter how hard you work. When your role is no more, then you are no more. It happens to everybody. The best thing you can do is be prepared for that time. Work for yourself if you can figure out how. And don't be a problem for somebody else to solve. Good luck. I wish you the best."
Another user mentioned, "My only question is who asked him to work relentlessly? You do know that this is the way the industry is and, everyone is pretty much a number in the corporate world." People had mixed reactions to the post.
