Wlad Klitschko was born in 1976 in Kazakhstan and began training to become a boxer from a very early age. Wlad and his older brother, Vitali, had become standouts in the boxing world. Well, shortly before Wlad's boxing career started, he became famous at the 1996 Summer Olympics, where he won a gold medal. This was in Ukraine during the super-heavyweight division. Wlad Klitschko, whose professional boxing career lasted until 2017, resigned as world heavyweight champion.
According to a report by PEOPLE, Wladimir Klitschko and the late Hayden Panettiere had met at a mutual friend's party. It was in 2008, and both of them then dated for nine years. Earlier, in an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2013, Hayden recalled the first time she met her fiance. Both of them were in a relationship at the time, and it was Hayden who made the first move.
Hayden Panettiere had told Wladimir Klitschko that he was very huge, to which he replied by saying that she was tiny. Both of them got engaged in 2013, and by December 2014, they had a daughter whom they named Kaya Evdokia Klitschko. Hayden Panettiere stated that Wlad was over the moon when their daughter was born. In her words:
"He is just so over the moon. I'm lucky if I can get my hands on the kid. He's like, 'No, no, I got her.' Which is exactly what I thought he would be like."
It was in August 2018 that Hayden Panettiere was papped holding hands with her ex, Brian Hickerson back at a restaurant in Los Angeles. Hayden's mom had confirmed that the daughter of the actress had moved to Ukraine, and a source mentioned that Hayden's life was in flux. Hayden also had other issues weighing on her mind.
Wladimir Klitschko has been a vocal activist in his home country for years. He had visited Ukraine with Hayden to voice their support for those who were protesting at that time. Wlad had stated that their fight was not falling on deaf ears, and in his words:
"The world will hear you. And as an American, I want you to know that I stand by you, I support your fight, and I will support it until the country of Ukraine in its entirety reflects the beauty, the true beauty of Ukrainian people. Keep fighting. I love you all."
Wlad Klitschko has been fighting for his nation in the war against Russia since the time Vladimir Putin started the invasion. His brother, Vitaly has been the mayor of the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv since 2014, and both have also stood together throughout the war. For the unversed, Wlad and Hayden remained on good terms and used to travel with their daughter, Kaya. The actress once, in an interview with E! Online, had also stated that she had a good relationship with Kaya and Wlad. In her words:
"I have an incredible relationship with both of them. I’m so grateful for Wlad. We’re very close, and have had a deep friendship, along with a relationship, since I met him when I was 19. To see that we still have this bond and the ability to co-parent and show our daughter that even though we’re not together,” she continued, “doesn’t mean that there’s a lack of love here, and it doesn’t mean that you’re unsafe."
