At first, she did it for her mother, a former actress, who wanted to see her daughter become a famous actress herself. However, over the years, Hayden realised how her childhood was lost in order to become a top actress.
Hayden Panettiere got a cool tattoo in 2020 on the back of her neck. It depicted the Eye of Ra, an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection. It was brought to life by tattoo artist Brendan Rowe, and Hayden got it done to ward off the evil eye. In 2020, she shared the photo on her Instagram handle. She captioned the post as "Newish ink #TheEyeOfRa."
It is worth mentioning that three years later, Hayden's brother passed away, and it left a big void in her heart. As per the family, he died from an enlarged heart with aortic valve complications. The condition caused the muscular walls of the heart to become too thick while trying to push the blood. However, Hayden was deeply sorry. She gained about 40 pounds due to the pain. She just ballooned out. She shared:
“I just ballooned out. It didn’t matter what I did, what I ate. I know stress and cortisol running through your body can do that. Now I think my body was protecting itself, shielding itself from the world."
Hayden stated that he was her only sibling and it was her job to protect him, and when she lost him it felt like she lost her life. She stated that she could never get over it, no matter how many years passed after losing her only brother. She said:
"He was my only sibling, and it was my job to protect him. When I lost him, I felt like I lost half of my soul … I will always be heartbroken about (him), I will never be able to get over it. No matter how many years go by, I will never get over his loss."
For those who don't know, Hayden was born and raised in Palisades, New York. She entered acting as a baby model, then she landed a role as a child artist. Her mother, who was a former actor, wanted to see her succeed in the glamour world, but it ruined her chance to have a normal childhood.
Hayden died on August 16, 2026, in Greenville, South Carolina. An officer revealed that they received a call at around 1:50 pm stating that there was an unresponsive female. Her representative talked about her death and said:
"It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her -- and to the millions who watched her onscreen."
It is worth mentioning that Hayden talked about her bisexuality just three months before her death in May 2026. She talked about it in her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning. Hayden talked about being bisexual and stated that it was something that she was never able to share with the world, as, for her, it seemed the right time never came.
Hayden claimed that she was too young earlier, and she was forced to be perfect all the time. Hayden revealed that she was scared, as there came a period when women talking about being bisexual looked like a fad.
