Gustaakh Ishq, the romantic drama starring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, is gearing up for its digital release. The film was released in theatres on November 28, 2025. Fashion designer, Manish Malhotra produced the film directed by Vibhu Puri. Gustaakh Ishq marked the debut of celebrity designer, Manish as a film producer. Although the film failed to perform well at the box office, the audience loved the chemistry between Vijay and Fatima. Now, let’s find out when and where to watch the film.
The story of Gustaakh Ishq revolves around 'Nawabuddin' (played by Vijay Varma), who tries his level best to save his late father's printing press, in order to honour his legacy. During this process, he comes across some unpublished poetry written by a solitary poet, 'Aziz Beg' (played by Naseeruddin Shah). When 'Nawabuddin' goes to meet 'Aziz' in order to convince him to publish those poems, he crosses paths with his daughter, 'Minni' (played by Fatima Sana Shaikh).
The meeting slowly turns into love that echoes across the lanes of Purani Delhi and Malerkotla. According to the latest reports, the film is releasing on January 27, 2026, on Jio Hotstar. Sharing a video on January 23, 2026, on their official Instagram handle, Jio Hotstar wrote:
"Ek dastaan jo dil ko chhuegi… Purani Dilli ki galiyon se nikli yeh gustaakh ishq ki kahani!"
According to Big TV report, Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh allegedly took home a similar amount. Vijay reportedly earned Rs. 3 to 4 crore, and Fatima also reportedly earned the same. They were followed by Naseeruddin Shah who allegedly took home Rs. 2 to Rs. 2.5 crore. If the report is believed to be true, then Vijay and Fatima earned the highest paycheque among the cast members of Gustaakh Ishq.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vijay opened up about his overall experience working on the film, Gustaakh Ishq. He shared that the film challenged him to explore love beyond words. He mentioned that now that the romantic drama has made its way to the OTT, the audience can truly absorb its depth and the poetry. He was quoted as saying:
"This film challenged me to explore love beyond words. Gustaakh Ishq lives in glances, pauses, and emotions left unsaid, and that made the experience deeply rewarding as an actor. What moved me most was how the film treats love with restraint and dignity, allowing the tension to build quietly rather than declaring itself loudly. The warmth the film received reaffirmed our belief in this story and its timeless emotional core, and I'm glad it now finds a wider audience on JioHotstar, where viewers can truly absorb its poetry and depth."
In the same interview, producer and designer, Manish Malhotra shared that Gustaakh Ishq is a timeless romance that follows the celebration of love in a poetic and vulnerable way. He also lauded the cast members for their contribution to the romantic drama. He also expressed his excitement as Gustaakh Ishq is all set to release on Jio Hotstar. He was quoted as saying:
