In a recent interview, Gautami Kapoor opened up about making a startling comeback to the screens. However, she also revealed how hilariously, she has asked her husband, Ram Kapoor to retire.
Popular couple from the television industry, Ram Kapoor and Gautami Gadgil's love story began when they met on the sets of the show, Ghar-Ek Mandir. Although their chemistry on the TV serial swooned many hearts, in reality, they never thought of dating one another. However, it was when she was trying to play Cupid for him, they fell for each other. Afterwards, they dated for a while and then tied the knot on February 14, 2003. Since then, they keep radiating pure couple goals with their fun revelations and cute banter on social media.
Coming to their professional front, Gautami had taken a sabbatical from her acting career in 2015 to focus on her family. Earlier, in a few interviews, the actress has also revealed getting side roles, which didn't excite her much. But in 2020, she made a comeback with the web series, Special Ops, and in 2024, she is all set to be seen in three more such OTT shows. Thus, talking about her return to the screens in an interview with Times Of India, Gautami revealed that she can now focus on her career as her kids have already grown up. Moreover, Gautami was heard jokingly mentioning that she has asked her husband that he can retire now. She said:
“This year you will see me in not one, but three web shows. In fact, I have already completed shooting for my third show. My kids have grown up now, my daughter (Sia) is 18 and my son (Aks) is 15. So now, I am all set to focus on my career. I believe it is my time to work now and I am back to it. I am going to kill it. I have told Ram that he can retire now while I will work (laughs). I am in a good headspace work-wise.”

Ram and Gautami have always spoken highly of one another. And their never-ending love and support are easily noticeable in each of their public interviews and social media posts. Earlier, in an interaction for his show, Zindagi Ke Crossroads, Ram revealed how his darling wife, Gautami, helped him shape his career. He explained:
"The reason why I am doing so well professionally is Gautami; it's only because of her. I am really lucky to have a wife from the industry who understands how it works here, who understands the pros and cons of the industry. She never asks me why am I working late night or travelling a lot. She just understands me so well. She has taken on the home front so well, she manages the kids so well and that lets me put my best in my career. I couldn't have done it without her."
Ram Kapoor and his wife, Gautami never leave a stone unturned to take a dig at each other. Moreover, we have often seen Ram complaining about not getting enough attention from Gautami, as she is mostly found pampering their furbaby. Earlier, Ram became jealous of their dog when his wife was seen feeding him with her hand. Thus, the actor posted a video of the same on his Instagram handle. Following this, Gautami too, got a chance to take her revenge. However, it was Ram himself, who took to his Instagram handle and shared a hilarious video of his wife, Gautami, showing off the wallpaper of her mobile's lock screen. The video began with Ram recording Gautami's reaction, who wasn't able to control her laugh and she said, "Haye main sadke jawan." Alongside the video, Ram penned:
"My wife is trying to take revenge of all the times that I have irritated her with the videos that I have shot."

Despite 21 years of married life, Ram and Gautami still know how to keep their relationship beautiful. Earlier, reflecting upon the time, Ram took to his IG handle to share a throwback picture with his wife, Gautami. In the picture, while Ram looked dapper in a maroon shirt with a tie and a black blazer, Gautami opted for a beige saree with a red velvet blouse. She completed her look with a maang teeka and necklace in the shades of red and golden. The couple was seen exuding 2000s fashion. Sharing it, Ram wrote, “WAAAAAAAAAY back when ....... !!!!!!” To which, Gautami replied, “How time flies !!!” followed by awestruck emoticons.
