Govinda And Sunita Suffered The Loss Of Their Three-Month Old Daughter, 'Her Lungs Hadn't Developed'

Govinda once recalled the tragic loss of his daughter and carrying her lifeless body to the Narmada River.

Govinda is mired in controversy after the actor was spotted with an aspiring actress, Komal Rani Swarnkar, with whom he was rumoured to have an affair. Though his wife, Sunita Ahuja, has been giving hints about it, the actor has not yet reacted to the reports. But do you know, Govinda and Sunita have dealt with one of the most painful moments of losing their child.

Govinda and Sunita lost their three-month-old baby

Govinda has been married to Sunita Ahuja since 1987. The couple had known each other before marriage. They welcomed their daughter, Tina, in 1989 and son, Yashvardhan, in 1997. Not many people know this, but Govinda and Sunita lost a baby before welcoming Yashvardhan into their lives.

Yes, after the birth of Tina, the couple welcomed another daughter into their lives, but she was born prematurely. Her lungs were not fully developed, and she passed away at three months. It was one of the most traumatising periods for the couple as they took years to deal with the loss. But they clung to each other for comfort and welcomed their son many years later.

Govinda recalled seeing a beggar woman with a child while he held his lifeless daughter

In an old video of Govinda, the actor spoke about losing his baby and revealed that his mother told him to immerse his lifeless daughter in the Narmada River. The actor revealed that carrying his lifeless daughter was the toughest part of his life.

Recalling the heart-wrenching moment, Govinda said he followed his mother's instructions. The star took his baby girl's lifeless body to the river on the ninth day of Navratri. On his way, he saw a beggar woman with a baby in her arms.

She knocked at his door to beg for money, and when she noticed a lifeless baby in Govinda’s arms, she ran away. Elaborating on the same, he said:

“Usne apne bacche ko ese sameta aur mere taraf se bhaagi. Uss waqt mujhe esa laga ki me bhikari hu aur ye malkin hai. Toh jeevan hai, ye aapko stardom mein bhi bhikari se battar baat dikhata hai aur kabhi kabhi bohot hi gareebi aur laachaari mein badshah se badhkar cheeze dikhata hai."

Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, once appeared on Timeout with Ankit and opened up about which of her kids was naughtier. She revealed that neither of them is naughty, but her son, Yash, was pampered as he was born after the death of her second daughter. Sunita further added:

"Yash is a little pampered because he is eight years younger than Tina. Before Yash, I had another daughter, too, but she was premature and didn't live. She was three months old when she expired; her lungs hadn't developed. That is why I brought up Yash in a cocoon because I was scared. Now I have to fulfil all his wishes, but it's fine."
