Late Sunday night, June 7, 2026, Kirsten Storms finally decided to address the recent restraining order filed by her ex-husband, Brandon Barash, who is also her former General Hospital co-star. On her Instagram, she shared a lengthy statement in a carousel post, noting that the topic was very “difficult” for her to address. She wrote:

“I'm sure some of you guys have read the stories online regarding a situation involving something my ex-husband is currently trying to claim.”

For those unaware, it was in April 2026 that Brandon Barash obtained an emergency restraining order against Kirsten Storms, claiming that she was suffering from a mental health crisis. According to the actor, his biggest fear was for his 12-year-old daughter's well-being, as Kirsten was exhibiting concerning behaviour. The duo got divorced in 2016, after which Brandon remarried last year, in 2025.

In the Instagram post, Kirsten addressed a story which she had seen online about how she reported the apartment break-in after her ex-husband had filed a restraining order against her in court. She claimed that a single look at the records or evidence would easily prove that those stories are completely false. Kirsten revealed that she had actually reported to the building and the Franklin Police Department even before Brandon had filed anything. The reason she chose to address this situation now is that it puts her “safety in a dangerous position for anyone to try and shift focus away from the fact that there was a person regularly entering my residence while I was out of town.”

In his court order, Brandon stated that Kirsten Storms had called him back in November 2025 and told him she believed people were breaking into her apartment. Not only that, but she also told him that those people were trying to “mess with her” by removing items and putting them back in her car. Brandon claimed that on another call, his ex-wife told him that she was “experiencing delusions and hallucinations.”

In her post, Kirsten argued that, contrary to Brandon's belief, the break-ins were real and had been reported before the restraining order. To prove her point, she cited her previous post, which contained a photo of the damage that was fine to her apartment's door lock. She wrote:

“I took that photo in August of last year – months before Brandon filed anything in court. I was also speaking with the people who worked in the leasing office of the building (in person and via email), attempting to get answers on the damage to my door and wanting to know about locating building camera footage. This communication also started the first week of August. I waited to post about the break-in on my Instagram for a few months. I had already moved out of the building and honestly, it’s been something that is difficult to accept happened pretty much as soon as I moved out here.”

Kirsten shared that she had moved to Tennessee as a single mother who lives alone half of the time. On top of having a brain aneurysm, this entire situation has been very upsetting for her. Reportedly, she had moved to the state during the summer of 2025 with her daughter. She added:

“Realising that not only was my apartment/space/privacy being violated, but this person also gained access to my WiFi and cellphone *while in my apartment* (the Franklin PD has received evidence on all of this – resulting in an investigation).”
