The couple, who have been married for a decade, have reportedly been living separately since last year, as shared by the actress. Initially, when Gaurav was in Bigg Boss 19, speculations about the couple's divorce were rife, however, the duo repeatedly dismissed the buzz.
However, Chamola, while being in Lock Upp, revealed that they are getting divorced and have been living separately. The news came as a shock to many and on the top of that, Shreya Kalra ended up revealing that Akanksha is bisexual, which the accused agreed. Amid this, Gaurav Khanna entered the show to meet his estranged wife, and the duo talked at length about everything that was going on.
During the episode, Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna had a conversation with Farah Khan, during which she told the actor that when the second secret of his estranged wife came out, they had a conversation about the same. Farah revealed that she asked Akanksha whether she had revealed the secret to Gaurav. Farah questioned Gaurav whether he had known about Akanksha Chamola's bisexuality. To this, Akanksha said that he knew and even accepted her. Gaurav shared that he has always been that kind of person who has said that when someone likes someone, then they should do it wholeheartedly.
Akanksha said that Gaurav has been open-minded and he understood her feelings and everything and accepted graciously. Netizens have been reacting to the video where this conversation took place and showering the actor with love for the way he has been by his estranged wife's side. Gaurav, while being on the show, also talked about the gossip around his and Akanksha's personal life, and people calling them 'fake'. Gaurav talked to Akanksha and revealed that their marital life has become the biggest news, and it's not a good place to be in.
Gaurav went on to add that they had discussed divorce in May 2026, and people misinterpreted that they had been divorced for a year now. Gaurav added that people have been telling him that he is gaining sympathy by 'faking' things, while Akanksha is still his wife, legally. To mention, Gaurav and Akanksha had separated a year ago and decided to divorce each other recently, just before she entered the show. The actress spilt the secret while being on the show only. Gaurav mentioned that he doesn't like it that people are speaking wrongly about Akanksha. He could be quoted as saying:
"It is the biggest news right now. We discussed divorce in May. But people think we've been divorced for a year. They are saying she was auditioning for Bigg Boss and I was doing it for sympathy. Everybody wants a piece of this pie. I was so surprised by the way people reacted. They got an open ground to party. Legally, you are still my wife."
After Shreya Kalra revealed the secret of Akanksha on the show, the latter came forward and accepted the same. She shared that she has had a few relationships with females, but they were not too intimate. She further added that while being in a patriarchal society, it often happens that women are closer to female company, and the same happened with her, as she finds females attractive, and she admires them as well.
