Shilpa Shetty’s sister, Shamita Shetty had met Raqesh Bapat inside the controversial show, Bigg Boss OTT and felt an instant connection. After coming out of the show, they officially announced that they were together and dating. However, over time, rumours started doing rounds on the internet about trouble in Shamita and Raqesh’s paradise.
On July 26, 2022, Shamita and Raqesh finally announced their separation with their respective Instagram stories. They revealed that they were no longer together. Raqesh also shared that being a private person, he didn't want to share the details of his personal life in public. On August 6, 2022, while scrolling through our IG handle, we stumbled upon a video of Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat, uploaded by a paparazzi account. In the video, the ex-lovers were seen together for the first time post their breakup announcement. If reports are to be believed, then the rift between Raqesh Bapat and Shamita Shetty had ignited when in an interview, Raqesh had called her 'dear friend'. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Raqesh had talked about his relationship with Shamita and shared how it works for them. He had said:
"I'll tell you this, it's all about the energy two people carry with each other. That has to be worked on for anything to happen. We are in a happy zone; she is a dear friend. Friendship has to be so strong that nothing else can affect it. She is a pure soul. I value people who are honest. We have a lot of common interests. It's interesting to have like-minded people (Around you)."
