Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleAfter a wait of three years, Evil Dead Burn has arrived at the theatres on July 10, 2026. Back in 2023, Evil Dead Rise was the beginning of a new journey for a horror franchise that had no update about a new entry after the 2013 remake of Sam Raimi’s classic from 1981. Just like Evil Dead Rise, Evil Dead Burn has continued following the trend of excessive brutality, with the Book of the Dead playing an important role in everything that happens. Sebastien Vanicek’s supernatural horror brings new characters and a fresh storyline.
Evil Dead Burn undoubtedly has a lot of blood and gore that is not for the weak-hearted. A Deadite kills ‘Will’ at the beginning of the film, and the family’s grief becomes the perfect opportunity for the Deadites. While ‘Will’s’ funeral is being organised, they decide to target ‘Edgar.’ The plan works, and ‘Edgar’ is possessed. He wounds the family dog, followed by ‘Joseph’s’ girlfriend, ‘Thya.’
A few moments later, ‘Polly’ is also possessed, who joins ‘Edgar’ to destroy ‘Susan’s’ willpower. ‘Joseph’ is possessed, except that it does not happen on screen. One thing that remains common in all this chaos is the actions of ‘Alice,’ who manages to kill everyone who is possessed. ‘Joseph’ also helps ‘Alice’ for some time until he is targeted by the Deadites. The ending shows ‘Alice’ as the survivor. Although her eyes turn red, it does not reveal what happened to her.
A few things in the film hint that the franchise has a good scope for exploring them in the upcoming installments. The biggest one among them is the reason why the Deadites go after ‘Joseph’s’ family. It is because his grandfather was doing some research on them.
‘Joseph’s’ grandfather was a part of a group called the Wise Men, who wanted to find more about Deadites. Notably, the group’s decision also led to a mistake where the Book of the Dead could be opened and read by anyone. The group later created special knives that could kill a Deadite and end the possession of any human being.
The link between ‘Joseph’s’ family and the Deadites, along with the creation of the knives, clearly reveals the strengths and weaknesses of the demons. This means that the characters featured in the upcoming installments will have a better chance to defeat them permanently.
The in-laws of ‘Alice’ turn into Deadites. She fights them throughout the night and later finds the Kandarian dagger. The dagger looks a little different. For the unversed, the dagger was first introduced in The Evil Dead, released in 1981. It was left in the cellar of the cabin where the entire group arrived at the beginning of the film. The cabin was owned by archaeologist, ‘Raymond Knowby,’ who found a few things from King Arthur’s Castle Kandar while digging,
While the dagger was absent in Evil Dead Rise, it is found in the family attic this time, near the Necronomicon and some recordings and diaries that were taken away from the cabin in the first film. When ‘Alice’ gets the weapon, she uses it to finish a majority of the Deadites. But the only complication is that it brings mortal wounds to the person who is possessed.
Despite a long struggle, a possessed ‘Will’ manages to find ‘Alice’ and pursues her. He is too strong now and almost buries ‘Alice’ at a construction site. However, ‘Alice’ uses the dagger once again, ending the evil once and for all. ‘Alice’ is taken away by the paramedics. But this is not the end, as a possessed ‘Polly’ manages to save herself. A female motorist finds ‘Polly,’ and when she tries to help her, ‘Polly’ attacks the lady.
This is followed by a post-credits scene where the film goes back to the crematorium where ‘Will’s’ funeral was held. The owner is with her daughter and storing the ashes of those people whose bodies were unclaimed. The daughter finds an urn with ‘Ellie’s’ name on it. ‘Ellie’ is the woman who was first possessed in Evil Dead Rise. ‘Ellie’ first appears in a mirror. However, her Deadite version is spotted behind the crematorium owner’s daughter, who is killed by her.
