The demise of Bollywood's 'He-Man', Dharmendra, at the age of 89, was heartbreaking for everyone close to him. However, today, on December 8, 2025, the Deol family is missing him a little extra as he would have turned 90 on this day. From wife, Hema Malini, to son, Bobby Deol, the hero was remembered on this special day. But Esha's special gesture stole the spotlight. She also penned a heartfelt note for her papa.
Earlier, Esha Deol, the daughter of veteran actor, Dharmendra and Hema Malini, used to go by the username Esha Deol, but now it has been changed to Esha Dharmendra Deol. We noticed this change in her Instagram handle just before his 90th birthday. On the special occasion, this change seemed like a tribute to the late actor. She has also changed her IG DP. In her present display picture, she was seen wearing a shirt top and blue denim jeans, while Dharmendra, in his heroic andaaz, sported a black shirt with a few coloured designs and looked handsome by wearing a black hat.
On December 8, 2025, Esha Deol took to her Instagram handle and carousel featuring her and her papa, Dharmendra. Along with the lively and lovely pictures, Esha penned a lengthy emotional note remembering her father on the special occasion. In her note, Esha mentioned that she and her dad used to share the strongest bond. She shared that the life lessons, teachings, guidance, unconditional love and strength that Dharmendra gave her can’t be replaced. She wrote:
"To my darling Papa. Our pact, the strongest bond. 'Us' through all our lifetimes….. We are always together, Papa. We are one. For now, I have very tenderly, carefully & preciously tucked you in my heart … deep, deep inside to carry on with me for the rest of this lifetime. The magical, precious memories… life lessons, the teachings, the guidance, the warmth, the unconditional love, the dignity and the strength you have given me as your daughter cannot be replaced or matched by any other."
Esha expressed her grief about her dad’s demise. She shared that she misses him so much. She highlighted that she misses his protective hugs, touch, voice, laughter and shayaris. She concluded her emotional note with a heartfelt promise to her late father, Dharmendra. She promised to continue the hero’s legacy with pride and respect and continue spreading love to the millions whom Dharmendra loved dearly. She wrote:
"I so painfully miss you, Papa… your warm, protective hugs that felt like the cosiest blanket, holding your soft yet strong hands which had unspoken messages & your voice calling out my name that followed with endless conversations, laughter & shayaris. Your motto is 'always be humble, be happy, healthy & strong'. I promise to continue your legacy with pride & respect. I love you, Papa. Your darling daughter, your Esha, your Bittu."
Esha Deol is the eldest daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini. She has a sister, Ahana Deol. Coming to her professional front, Esha made her acting debut with the romantic thriller, Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. The film not only gave her fame, but it also helped her to bag the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. In her personal life, she was married to Bharat Takhtani. The couple tied the knot in 2012. However, in 2024, the duo parted ways. The couple shares two daughters, Radhya and Miraya.
