Recently, Deepika discussed how it felt to distance herself from Ranveer for the first time to accommodate their respective professional commitments. In 2022, there was a brief buzz about Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's separation rumors. During that time, an unverified Tweet made rounds on social media, which claimed that nothing was well between the couple. Soon after the same, during an event, Ranveer shut down the buzz, stating that he and Deepika met in 2012, and it was 2022, a decade that they were together. Such a comment instantly clarified the buzz around the couple's wedding, hitting a rough patch. Apart from that, it was in 2025 itself when Ranveer Singh grabbed the attention when his IG feed went through a cleanup phase, and all his photos with Deepika vanished, raising concerns among the netizens.
As people have witnessed couples taking the first step of deleting each other's photos from social media, if there's any bump in their happy marital road, Ranveer opting for the same road actually left people worried. But later it was revealed that his step of deleting his photos, and posting a cross-sword photo with the caption 12:12 was all about his then-upcoming movie, Dhurandhar, which is now making waves at the box office, being released a month back.
Deepika Padukone recently sat for an interview with Pinkvilla, wherein she stated that when she and Ranveer first met, they met as co-stars and their first conversation was as two teammates, but eventually, when they had their respective movies, in which they were not together, it actually took a lot of time for the duo to disconnect from that phase. Deepika stated that it actually helped her and Ranveer to understand each other better, as actors. Deepika could be quoted as saying:
"He's always been supportive of my work and it's actually a bit strange because when we met, we were doing films together and then, his first film post-Padmaavat was actually Gully Boy. So it felt different for me to be like 'Okay, now you're doing a film and I'm not in it' and then, I had a release in which he wasn't there. So it took some time to get used to that because our first interaction with each other was as co-stars. It took us a while to disconnect from that and be able to understand each other as actors, without being in that film."
To mention, over the years, there have been many rumours around Deepika and Ranveer's relationships and about the couple hitting a rough phase in their personal life, but they never let the outside clamour to enter their peace, and they continued to be each other's biggest supporters, proving every time why they are hailed as the power couple in Bollywood. For the unversed, Ranveer and Deepika met each other in 2012 on the sets of Ram-Leela. The duo's romanticism bloomed while shooting for the film; well, later they fell in love, and eventually they got married in 2018.
