Both Taylor and Dakota appeared in court virtually on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, regarding the custody of their two-year-old son, Ever True. In her new court filing, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star requested a protective order against Dakota, accusing him of aggressive behaviour and citing a “pattern of abusive conduct and coercive control” during their relationship.

The one claim that raised eyebrows was when Taylor mentioned that Dakota had her initials, 'TFP', tattooed on the inside of his lip, describing the act as “alarming” and a sign of increasingly possessive behaviour. According to the filing, she was shown an image of the tattoo and later received confirmation from Mortensen via text.

The alleged incident reportedly occurred around mid-February 2026, shortly after the reality TV star began promoting her now-cancelled season of The Bachelorette. Sources claim Dakota even showed off the tattoo to others, including during filming. The Mormon Wives alum also mentioned her ex-partner's "increasingly possessive" behavior after their breakup, especially as The Bachelorette neared its March 2022 premiere. Speaking about the tattoo incident, Taylor reportedly wrote in the filing:

“Considering his increasingly possessive and erratic behavior, and considering the fact that we were not in a relationship, this was extremely alarming. My initials are now permanently tattooed on the body of a man who has been abusive toward and possessive of me.”

According to insider information by PEOPLE, the tattoo incident occurred on Valentine's Day 2026, shortly before the promo for The Bachelorette went live. However, it's to be noted that the images included in the filing don't mention the exact date of the day they were taken. Taylor also mentioned that Dakota kept sending her emotional messages in the days following the tattoo incident.

In screenshots of texts submitted in the filing, Mortensen sent messages on February 16 and 17, 2026, saying, “I want you forever,” “I still love and want you,” and asking her to “give me a chance,” shortly after filming for The Bachelorette wrapped but before it aired. However, the show was later cancelled by ABC following Taylor's chair-throwing video, which she now says Dakota deliberately "released" to TMZ to "humiliate" her. However, Dakota has firmly denied the allegations, telling PEOPLE:

"I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny."

She described an incident from the early hours of February 23, 2026, alleging that Dakota drove her away from her home while her three children, including their son Ever, were asleep inside.
