It was in mid-August 2025 when Cristiano proposed to his ladylove, Georgina Rodriguez, with a huge diamond. But the proposal was quite funny as he wasn’t prepared for it. During an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Ronaldo revealed that his daughters prompted him to propose to Georgina. Recalling the same, he shared:
“It was like 1 am. My daughters were in bed sleeping. One of my friends gave me the ring to offer Gio (Georgina), and as I was giving her the ring, my two kids came in and said, 'Daddy, you're going to give the ring to mum and you're going to ask her to get married'. I said, 'Wow, this is the right moment to say yes.' It was the time.”
In the same conversation, Ronaldo also stated that he didn’t plan the proposal, but it happened naturally. Not just this, the handsome called himself a ‘non-romantic’ and said:
“I didn't (get on one knee) because I wasn't prepared but it was a beautiful moment. I made a speech. It was simple, I'm not a romantic guy. Well, I am, but I'm not very romantic, not the kind of guy who brings flowers every week to the home. But I'm romantic in my way. It was beautiful and I knew that it is the woman of my life so I did that and I hope that I did it well."
Georgina and Cristiano first crossed paths in 2016, allegedly at the Gucci store where she worked. They made their relationship public in January 2017 when they attended the Best FIFA Football Awards together. Over the years, the couple went on to build a family, which consisted of their five children.
The couple welcomed twin girls, Eva Maria and Mateo, via surrogacy, in June 2017. Within weeks, Ronaldo announced that he and Georgina were going to have their first biological child together and welcomed their daughter, Alana Martina, in 2017.
In 2022, the couple announced that they were expecting twins. The couple’s fifth child, Bella Esmeralda, arrived in April 2022 along with her twin brother, Angel. While Bella survived, their newborn boy, Angel, passed away during childbirth.
Georgina and Ronaldo then got engaged in a private ceremony in August 2025, and she shared a picture of her massive diamond ring. The exact budget of the huge engagement ring isn't known, and Georgina Rodríguez or Ronaldo didn't spill the details about the same. However, several jewelry experts have suggested that the budget of this ring would be around USD 3 to 4 million, while some other specialists argued that the centerpiece would have a budget of USD 5.4 million.
