The ex-couple faced tumultuous times, and a lot of ugly statements were made by both of them. Years later, when Charu shifted her base to Bikaner, Rajasthan, and is trying to make a healthy environment for her daughter, she found herself again in the swamp.
Recently, there have been some reports re-sharing Charu's old interview, wherein she talked about her ex-husband, Rajeev Sen. However, Charu slammed the media and reporters for trying to dig up her old statements for their views and engagement. She asked them to stop circulating her quotes from her old interviews and presenting it as if she talked about it recently. She wrote:
"I want to make it absolutely clear to all reporters and media portals that my personal life should not be used for gaining views or engagement. Quoting from my old interviews and presenting it as if it's relevant to my life today is completely unacceptable. I've
consciously chosen not to speak about my private life anymore, especially now that my daughter is growing up, and protecting her privacy and peace is my responsibility."
Charu called it unacceptable and stated that she has consciously chosen not to talk about her private life anymore, as her daughter is growing up. And she is trying her best to protect her privacy and peace is her responsibility. Charu added that she has been getting calls from several portals, but she is choosing not to respond. Charu further added:
"I get calls from several portals, but I choose not to respond. So using statements from years-old interviews to create stories and increase views is unfair, irresponsible, and completely unacceptable. I request all such portals to stop this immediately.
If this continues, I will be compelled to take appropriate action. My personal life is not content. Please respect my privacy, and most importantly, my daughter's privacy."

"I have shifted to my hometown Bikaner, Rajasthan. I have left Mumbai for now, and I am currently living with my parents. It's been more than a month since Ziana and I moved here."
Talking about her decision to leave Mumbai, Charu revealed that the place was extremely expensive for her. The living costs came up to Rs. 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh, including rent and everything else. She said:
"Living in Mumbai is not easy; it costs money. For me, the monthly living cost came up to Rs. 1 lakh -1.5 lakh, including the rent and everything, which was not easy. Furthermore, I would rather not leave Ziana alone with a nanny when I am shooting in Naigaon (Mumbai). It used to get extremely difficult. Moving back home and starting my own thing was completely planned; it wasn't a rushed decision."
