Catherine Zeta-Jones called Michael Douglas 'the ultimate nepo baby' ahead of his tell-all memoir's release

Michael Douglas' deeply personal memoir, One Helluva Ride will drop on October 6, 2026. Ahead of that, some bombshell revelations from the book have been making headlines, including his multiple affairs while being separated (but not divorced) from his first wife, Diandra Luker and his brief separation and eventual reconciliation with his second wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. Catherine weighed in on nepotism in Hollywood and told host Nuala McGovern that her husband is "the ultimate nepo baby." The Swansea-born actress claimed that people in other professional fields don't face the same level of criticism as actors when it comes to nepotism. She made the remarks while talking about her children- 26-year-older son Dylan and 23-year-old daughter Carys- facing scrutiny for working towards their passion for acting while coming from a film family.

Dylan Michael Douglas is pursuing acting and has worked in media and podcasting, and Carys Zeta Douglas is making her professional stage and film acting debut. While defending them from the "horrific term"- nepo babies, Catherine said her husband was the biggest nepo baby as he is the son of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas, best known for playing 'Spartacus' in the film of the same name and 'Vincent Van Gogh' in Lust for Life.

Catherine added that while her husband Michael Douglas may have received guidance on navigating Hollywood from his father, he worked hard to solidify his footing in the film industry. Praising her better half, she said he has done "good on his own" and made a name for himself.
