Before getting into a serious relationship with Jelly Roll, Bunnie wanted to be honest about the journey she had been on before she met him. She claimed that during the first night that she spent with Jelly, he asked her what she did for work. Instead of hiding the truth, Bunnie proudly told him that she was a call girl. Bunnie stated:

With Jelly Roll being unbothered by Bunnie's line of work, he decided to propose to her on a whim in August 2016. However, Bunnie confessed that deep down, she was “scared as f–k.” She was afraid because she didn't trust herself to make such a big leap. Bunnie revealed that she said yes at the time because she lives for spontaneity and found the proposal exciting. While she knew that her thinking could make things end in a “disaster,” they could at least say that it was a fun moment. The day after Jelly and Bunnie married in a courthouse in Vegas, she questioned if they had made a mistake. However, calmly explained to her that he wouldn't have married her if he was not serious. She wrote:
"With one sentence, J had calmed every fear rattling around inside of me. For my whole life, nothing had been particularly serious— even marriages could be undone without too much trouble. No one was thinking about forever with me. But J saw me differently. He saw the long game."
