Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleA wedding is the most special day of anyone's life. But imagine your groom calling you by another name on the big day of your life. Well, you have no choice but to run on or back off. Now, imagine your groom forgetting your name at the wedding altar and calling you by your sister's name. Well, this recently happened with a TikToker who shared her experience on social media.
Recently, a new bride, Emma from Brisbane, took to her TikTok handle and dropped a video, exposing her husband's big goof-up. She revealed how her husband called her by the wrong name. It is a big nightmare, and she shared the chaotic clip from her ceremony.
Footage of the nuptials gained over 2.2 million views, which featured her groom taking his vows and expressing his undying love to 'Emily', but the bride's name was 'Emma', and this name mistake left the bride fuming with anger. However, the plot twist was that the groom called the bride by her sister's name. She wrote:
"POV: You’re standing at the altar and your husband calls you the wrong name. Plot twist. It’s my sister’s name. Still, it's over being called Emily at the altar. #WeddingTok #WeddingFail #weddingday #MumTok #australianmum."
Well, over the years, we have seen a lot of wedding goof-ups where gals had to deal with cake being smashed in their faces, forgiving sweethearts who turn a blind eye to their groom and bridesmaids' flirtation, and whatnot.
But experts highlight that these kinds of wedding misconduct are hints of more sinister issues to come forward. As reported by the New York Post, a psychologist, Carly Dober, expressed his views on the matter and said:
"While not every wedding day will be ‘perfect’, ideally, all parties involved look back on the day with good feelings and good memories. Behavior such as this can highlight the disparities in some heterosexual relationships where women’s feelings aren’t valued and they might not be respected by their partner."
However, Emma also tried defending her hubby after the big mistake on the wedding altar, and replied to an internet user that if it was any random name, then she would have questions, but he took her sister's name, which is fine with her. She wrote:
"If it was a random name, I would have questions. My sister is my best friend. I have no concerns."
Social media users also shared their opinion. One user wrote, "I’m going to have to kill him." Another penned, "I’d have walked off and canceled the wedding." A third user commented, "This is the most humiliating wedding outcome possible. I’m so sorry, girl."
A fourth one wrote, "In all seriousness, if there’s any part of you that thinks maybe this is weird, you’re right. This is really strange, and sometimes it’s the simplest tells that reveal the biggest lies."
