Except superhit masala movies, Bollywood is famous for love triangles between celebrity co-stars. While some find their soulmates on film sets, there are others whose love stories end on bad terms. And our Khiladi Kumar’s story was no different. During Akshay Kumar’s initial days in Bollywood, he used to grab the headlines for two primary reasons. One was his daredevil stunts, and the other remained his link-up stories with various female co-stars.
Although he was a married man, his on-screen chemistry with Priyanka Chopra won millions of hearts, and later, juicy news about their off-screen romance made its way into tabloids. However, on the verge of success, Akshay Kumar had decided to stop working with PeeCee as his wife, Twinkle Khanna, had made him choose his family over his alleged affair with Priyanka.

In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, the director of Barsaat, Suneel Darshan revealed that he had casted Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in the movie initially. They had even shot significant parts of the film; however, it was his wife, Twinkle Khanna’s interference, that made Akshay back off from the film. He added how Akshay had informed him that due to some personal problems, he would not be able to continue the movie. He had further requested Suneel not to release the songs that ge shot with PeeCee. Later, Suneel had casted Bobby Deol opposite Priyanka in that film and completed the story. Check out the interview video!
During the conversation, Suneel stated that being an actress, Twinkle should have understood the film dynamics as she herself had worked with many male co-stars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and more. This incident had soured Suneel and Akshay’s sweet relationship, so much so that they had not spoken to each other for 17 years. And after so many years, it was recently in 2022, when Suneel released Akshay and Priyanka’s unreleased song, Woh Pehli Barsaat because he didn’t want the audience to miss their sizzling and magical chemistry.

If multiple reports are to be believed, Akshay Kumar’s doting wife, Twinkle Khanna had a noisy cat fight with Priyanka over a phone call. Multiple reports state that Twinkle had even reached on the sets of Waqt: The Race Against Time to slap Priyanka. But as PeeCee was not present on the sets, Akshay had to face his wife’s wrath. Later, Twinkle reportedly made him choose between Priyanka and his family. And Akshay had even held a press conference to announce that he wouldn’t work with Priyanka. Till date, the two actors have not starred in any film together, even after multiple attempts by renowned directors and producers.
