In a piece of heartbreaking news, Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher, passed away on September 5, 2026. He was also a founding guitarist of Every Time I Die and collapsed during the main event of the Enjoy Wrestling Five-Year Anniversary show. Now, an eyewitness revealed Andy's last moments before he collapsed.

An eyewitness reveals what had happened to Andy Williams at the time of his death

A report by Complex.com stated that, at the end of the match, Andy's legs buckled and he went to the floor. Andy had come to watch the match with The Blade (Jesse Guilmette). The eyewitness shared that the paramedics were called immediately, and the crowd also worked to revive him. In the words of the eyewitness:

"He seemed to be in a bit of dire straits; they went to a finish, and he was a little Andy then went down, and Blade helped him up a bit and then tried to get folks to help. Once they saw, both the crew and the paramedics worked in unison, and the crowd did as well. Cleared a path, paid attention to the calls on the mic, and then got him chest compressions and ice. Then they boarded and got him out of there."

What was Andy Williams' cause of death?

The official cause of death of Andy Williams has not been released. An autopsy will soon be conducted to look into the exact reason behind his death. After the medical emergency, Enjoy Wrestling issued a statement confirming that he had collapsed. The statement further read:

"Andy collapsed at the end of his match this evening. Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived. We sent everyone home and are now at the hospital, waiting for more information. Thanks to everyone who helped and has reached out."

Ande Williams' representative, Steve Kaye, who is also a co-founder of the Paragon Talent Group, also paid his tribute to the musician and the wrestler. Steve stated that Andy spoke about life outside the ring and how he wanted to do business. He also had some plans along the same line. Steve shared:

"We’ve repped Andy for about a year and a half, and Andy and I spent hours upon hours on the phone in that time, talking about life outside and after the ring. He had wonderful ideas and business plans, and he consistently impressed me with his creativity. He became a very good friend in the time we’ve worked together. Every phone call ended with him reminding me to take care of myself and give myself some grace."

Andy's representative also added, praying that he would receive the same grace as he crosses to the next stage. Steve shared how he will always miss Andy, his marathon phone calls, and noted, "Life is seldom fair, and losing one of the good ones will never cease being the worst feeling in the world. I’ll miss you a ton, Andy. I will miss our marathon phone calls, and I promise that I won’t let your ideas fall by the wayside, and your memory will always be a blessing."

For the unversed, Andy started training as a wrestler in the early 2010s and debuted in 2015. He teamed up with Guilmette, and they both called themselves The Butcher and The Blade. The duo was also seen in many promotions, including AEW, Ring of Honor (ROH), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), and more.

A trailblazing musician with ETID and Atomic Rule, Williams made a successful transition into professional wrestling and was highly respected by his peers both in and out of the ring.
