Anas Rashid Of 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' Fame Becomes A Father, Shares A Video To Announce The Good News

In 2017, Anas Rashid a.k.a. Sooraj of Diya Aur Baati Hum surprised his fans with the announcement of his marriage with the girl of his parents’ choice. Anas walked down the aisle with a Chandigarh based girl named Heena Iqbal on September 10, 2017, in an intimate ceremony. Soon their pictures from the pre-wedding and wedding ceremonies went viral on social media. The lovebirds got engaged in April 2017, and it must be noted here that Heena is 14 years younger than Anas, and yet the love between them is one of a kind. On February 12, 2019, Anas gave a pleasant surprise to all his fans with a video that he shared on his Instagram handle, revealing that he is blessed with a baby girl. Yes, you read that right! The elated father, Anas thanked his wife, Heena and family for all the love and this new journey. He captioned the video as, "Hi dear ones, We are blessed with a baby girl yesterday. Both mother and baby are in good health. Thank you all for your blessings and wishes. Anas Rashid."

Expressing his feelings after getting married and labelling it as the best day of his life, Anas gushed in a throwback interview, “Everyone kept complimenting us how great we looked together. Our wedding attire also received a lot of appreciation and we were blushing because of the praises. Being the eldest in the house, I was so elated to see my family happy. It was a feeling that I can’t even describe in words. I was nervous, happy, restless and what not. It was the best day in my life for sure.”

When asked if Heena will be able to mingle with his family, he had stated, “It doesn’t seem that she is new in the family. Heena has already won over everyone and she has seamlessly blended with the family. Everyone loves and adores her and she too has been reciprocating it with equal love. As of now, she hasn’t cooked anything but my mother and sisters are helping her in understanding these things.”

In an interview with Bombay Times, when asked how it feels to get married in real-life, Anas had shared, “I feel content and complete. During the wedding, Heena's friends asked me how it feels to be married in real life after tying the knot on-screen. I said I had the liberty to take a break whenever I was tired in reel life, but in real life, there is no action or cut (laughs)." When further probed why he chose for an arranged marriage set-up, Anas replied, “I had complete faith on my parents' choice. Also, I felt that I was ready to take on the responsibilities associated with an arranged marriage, which is to take the immediate and extended families along. Heena is the perfect life partner for me. She is very honest and simple; these two qualities attracted me to her.”

Since Heena doesn’t belong to the entertainment industry, Anas was asked about how she will adjust in this new world. To which, the doting husband had retorted, “She knows more about the industry than me; she is friends with a lot of singers and assistant directors. She had even followed my show religiously for the initial two-and-a-half years till I help Sandhya (Deepika Singh) become an IPS officer. Heena is very excited to come to Mumbai and meet my friends. I will take her around the city and have her experience the night life as well. Let's see how she adjusts here.”

If ever his wife, Heena wanted to take up acting as a profession, will he support her? Anas answered, “She told me that she got a lot of acting offers in the Punjabi industry, but she declined them as she doesn't have the patience required for this profession. If she wants to act, I would tell her to take a cue from my experience in the industry. I would support her."
