The film follows two women, who are pulled into a dangerous mission against a powerful enemy. Now that the action thriller is receiving mixed reviews from cinephiles, continue reading to know how Alpha ends!
The action thriller begins with a little girl named 'Sita' (Alia Bhatt), who is kidnapped by a former military officer, 'Fateh Singh Lakhawat' (played by Bobby Deol). Instead of being a father, 'Fateh' raises 'Sita' to be an assassin. He trains her and teaches her survival, weapon training, hand fighting and more.
As 'Sita' grows up, 'Fateh' tells her the truth and informs her about her first deadly mission. 'Fateh' convinces her that the mission is for the safety of India and since she blindly trusts him, 'Sita' goes ahead and eliminates multiple people. The first half of the movie features action-packed scenes, which established 'Sita' as a fearless fighter.
As the mission turns deadly, the movie introduces 'Durga' (played by Sharvari Wagh). Unlike 'Sita', 'Durga' is a trained RAW officer, who works under 'Colonel Vikrant Kaul' (played by Anil Kapoor). 'Durga' is asked to investigate a mysterious chain and all the clues lead her to 'Sita'. They cross paths multiple times; however, they always get into intense fights as they feel the other person is trying to stop their mission.
As the movie moves forward, small cracks start to appear in 'Fateh Singh's' plan. 'Sita' notices that some of his information does not fit together. She starts to realise that through his mission, innocent people are getting caught in fire. On the other hand, 'Durga's' investigation also leads to 'Fateh'.
Meanwhile, 'Sita' discovers a horrifying truth about her mentor and father figure, 'Fateh', which is that he has been kidnapping innocent children and training them to be a deadly assassin, so that they can fight on his behalf. This revelation breaks 'Sita' as she is one of the victims of 'Fateh Singh', who is the mastermind of a massive military operation. She also understands that whatever she was doing till now was against her country and in order to strengthen 'Fateh's' illegal organisation.
Eventually 'Durga' reaches a mountain base to arrest 'Sita' for all the activities that she has been involved in. However, after meeting 'Sita', she realises that the poor girl is only a victim, who has been manipulated since her childhood. So, instead of fighting, they join hands with each other to end 'Fateh'.
The climax of the movie, Alpha features an intense and emotional fight between 'Sita' and 'Fateh', who shared a father-daughter bond for years. Since 'Fateh' had personally trained 'Sita', he is aware of all the moves she can use to hit him, so he perfectly counter attacks her, making the battle extremely difficult. However, 'Durga' enters the fight to distract him, which gives an upper hand to 'Sita'. Together, 'Sita' and 'Durga' defeat 'Fateh Singh' and destroy his entire illegal training centre.
The film ends with 'Sita' and 'Durga' returning back to the RAW headquarters, where 'Colonel Vikrant Kaul' is very satisfied with the girls and creates a division called Alpha. 'Sita' and 'Durga' are the founding members of the unit. It is worth mentioning that his unit hints at a beginning of a new chapter in the YRF Universe. In the climax, the movie also reveals that 'Sita' and 'Durga' are biological sisters with 'Vikrant' being their father.
