It was only a few months ago, when social media was filled with the speculations that Gaurav and Akanksha had separated and were considering divorce. The couple soon came forward and denied all such rumours around, tagging the buzz as a false one.
Well, it was on June 27, 2026, when Akanksha Chamola confirmed that she and Gaurav had separated, and it's been one year. She also added that they are getting divorced. The news came as a shock, as during Bigg Boss 19, the couple's PDA won everyone's hearts. Amid the recent confirmation of Akanksha, let's have a look at the recent past, when the actor's affair buzz hit the headlines. Yes! You heard it right. It was in December 2025, when social media was filled with speculations about Gaurav Khanna's dating buzz with his Anupamaa co-star, Nidhi Shah.
It so happened that Nidhi ended up liking an IG post that mocked Gaurav Khanna about his Bigg Boss 19 win, claiming him unworthy. No sooner did netizens notice that, than some of them started claiming that the duo was having an affair while filming Anupamaa. While Gaurav didn't react to this buzz, it was Nidhi, who didn't hold back from slamming such false buzz. She directly replied to a comment that could be read as, "They’ve had an affair during Anupamaa," by saying, "Ya, you know better," along with some laughing emoticons.
Akanksha Chamola appeared on Lock Upp Season 2 premiere, where she revealed the secret and confirmed that she and her husband, Gaurav have decided to part ways. She shared that they have been living separately for a year and have decided to get a divorce. She also shared that this information has not been made public, while mentioning that there's no bad blood between them, and they have been in talks. Akanksha further revealed that she and Gaurav don't think that they are compatible partners, as they see very different futures than each other, and it's not with each other, which is unfortunate. She could be quoted as saying:
"Things are not bad between me and Gaurav. We still talk to each other. We don't think we are compatible as partners because we both see a very different future. And, unfortunately, it's not with each other."
To mention, it was a few months ago, when Akanksha met her husband Gaurav at the Bigg Boss 19 house, and the duo's chemistry was so love-filled that people were in a frenzy. Following this, there was gossip about the couple having kids, as, reportedly, while the actor wanted to be a father, Akanksha wasn't ready. Gaurav, although he has spoken about the same while being in the reality show. He said that they had been married for nine years and he would carry forward his wife's wish to have no kids.
Gaurav said that there was a certain point when he wanted to have kids, but she didn't and he also accepted that further. Speaking about the same, Gaurav mentioned that when there's love, one needs to see through them. Akanksha revealed that she didn't feel the inclination to have kids. She also mentioned that the possibility of having a kid in the future is very unclear to her, as she doesn't feel the need to have one.
