David Beckham has recently planned out the inheritance of his USD 450 million (approx) real estate portfolio. He reportedly didn't name his son, Romeo, as the sole beneficiary of his wealth, as was reported earlier, and shared the reason for the same. According to the former England football legend, Romeo isn't prepared to shoulder the massive responsibility and legacy associated with the Beckham surname. David also cited an example of a financial decision Romeo allegedly made that he considers unwise. He recalled that before buying Inter Miami, he urged his son to invest USD 4 million into the project, but Romeo refused, choosing to spend his money elsewhere.
Notably, Romeo was earning well as a pro footballer at that time; hence, his father picked him over his siblings to make the offer. According to reports, if Romeo agreed to David's offer, he would have secured a 30 per cent stake in Inter Miami by 2026. After sharing the incident, David reportedly went on to say that all Romeo does now is blow cash on unnecessary things. However, he didn't go into the details about which part of Romeo's expenditure he considers useless.
Recently, Romeo Beckham heightened the rumours of rift with his father, David Beckham, by supporting his father's former biggest rival in the July 3, 2026 FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Cape Verde. Romeo and his girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, sparked controversy by donning the team colours of Argentina, the historic World Cup rivals of the former England footballer, David Beckham. Kim even sported an Argentina kit with Lionel Messi's name across the back. Notably, she and Romeo were seated in the Miami stands right behind David and Victoria Beckham.

Brooklyn accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of long-term manipulation and attempts to sabotage his marriage. He made it clear that he has no desire to reconcile with his family. Brooklyn claimed that his parents controlled the narrative in the press his entire life to preserve the Beckham "brand". He alleged that they hurled "endless attacks" and spread "lies" about him and his wife, Nicola. He also claimed that his parents controlled most parts of his life, making him feel suffocated in the Beckham abode.
The excessive control allegedly led Brooklyn to grow up with "overwhelming anxiety", and he felt lighter after stepping away from his family. He further alleged that his parents have tried "endlessly to ruin" his relationship with Nicola Peltz Beckham even before their 2022 wedding. As per him, David and Victoria pressured and "attempted to bribe" him into signing away the rights to his name weeks before his wedding, an agreement he said would have affected his wife and future children. Not just that, Brooklyn even accused his mother of "hijacking" his first dance with Nicola and even trying to shake things up by inviting his exes home when he was betrothed.
