#1. Banana and oats smoothie

Whisk two wholesome pulpy bananas into the mixer and add two heaped teaspoons of oats. After whisking in, add a full glass of milk or yoghurt with a dash of honey or a tablespoon of your favourite jam. Whip it all up for about a minute and voila! All you get is a creamy smoothie, laden with the goodness of milk, oats and fresh fruits. You can also add a handful of nuts for that extra energy spike.

You do not have to spend a great amount of time on it. Just layer your bowl with your favourite cereal, laden with freshly chopped seasonal fruits, and then top it off with low-fat yoghurt. It tastes amazingly delicious and is a sumptuous recipe for breakfast. This is a good recipe for those who swear by their morning bowl of cereal.

There is no better way of using leftover idlis than using them as masala idlis for the next day’s breakfast. And, to do so, simply add mustard seeds into a pan with a little oil. Add curry leaves into it, along with a pinch of salt, chili powder and turmeric. Add halved idlis and stir fry a little to get the colour and the smokiness of the spices. Turn it off and have it with your favourite chutney or just like that. It is simple and not to mention, healthy.

Whisk two eggs with some chopped garlic, onions, tomatoes, and some other leftover veggies, potatoes, and salt and pepper to taste. Oil your pan and make an omelette. It will take around four minutes to cook completely, and lesser to devour.

#5. Garlic butter and beans on toast

Consider brown bread, if you want to have a healthy breakfast option. Toast and smear some margarine or butter on it. Meanwhile, heat the canned beans and add dry chili flakes, and a little salt to taste. Have it for breakfast and you will love it.

Leftover sabzi can be used for sandwiches. Just mix a little pepper in your last night's sabzi, and mash it. Layer in between bread slices and toast them on a hot griddle with oil or a sandwich maker.
