"I am in no way, shape or form wanting any of the attention out of this. I just want the facts to be right. I keep seeing negative stuff about us and things that aren’t true that keep getting out there. It’s just kind of heartbreaking but people are going to think what they think. No one told us not to go in the water. We talked to one person on the way in, and all he said that I heard was that he used to bring his dogs out here. I don’t know anything else that he said but that’s all I can recall. If he said it, it wasn’t vocal enough for us to catch it."

Chance Allison clarified that he didn’t give Brittany CPR but tried to make her comfortable. Chance also emphasised that his dogs were not in the water at the time of the alligator attack. He stated that his dogs were near the riverbank and tried to scare the alligator by barking. Allison added that he is making arrangements for Brittany’s funeral with her family.
