Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s love blossomed on the sets of Umrao Jaan. But way before that Abhishek was smitten by Aishwarya’s beauty when he met her for the first time in Switzerland, where he went for the recce of a film. Aishwarya was shooting there with Bobby Deol for her Bollywood debut film, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya.
After spending time with each other during the shooting of Umrao Jaan, Guru and Dhoom 2, the duo started developing feelings for each other. During the premiere of Guru, the handsome Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya, and she said yes. On April 20, 2007, the doting couple got married and began their forever journey.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s wedding was a grand affair with some of the leading names from the film industry. Without any hashtags, it was the wedding of the decade, and there are not a lot of pictures of the duo. However, we got our hands on a few unseen glimpses of their wedding festivities, and they are simply unmissable.
The unseen pictures featured Aishwarya’s mehendi ceremony, and the diva looked dreamy. The actress donned a baby pink-coloured lehenga with intricate sequin and thread work. She teamed her lehenga with a long choli and accentuated her look with jewellery made of flowers, which included a long necklace, bajubandh, earrings and matha patti. Her hair was combed back in a sleek bun adorned with gajra. Aishwarya was seen getting her mehendi done on her palms and feet.

One of the pictures featured Abhishek Bachchan's ghudchadi, where he was seen sitting on a horse with his face covered with gajra. Dressed in an ivory sherwani, Abhishek looked handsome and was accompanied by his nephew, Agastya Nanda. Little Agastya twinned with his maamu and looked adorable.
Other pictures featured Abhishek and Aishwarya’s wedding rituals, where the two could be seen laughing their hearts out and also posing with a little boy from their family. In one of the pictures, papa, Amitabh Bachchan was seen performing a ritual and the picture also featured, Shammi Kapoor, Naila Devi and Karan Johan. In another picture, Jaya Bachchan was seen posing with one of the guests while smiling her heart out.
We also got to see Abhishek Bachchan’s sister, Shweta Bachchan doing her sisterly duties at the wedding while a pandit guided her. Abhishek and Aishwarya were also seen performing a post-wedding ritual, where the actress looked stunning in a red-coloured silk saree with sindoor smeared forehead as she applied tilak on Abhishek. The doting couple was also seen posing for a picture while sitting on a plane.
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are a match made in heaven and have reinstated our faith in marriage.
