Surbhi Chandna mesmerised everyone with her minimal and chic look for her wedding with the man of her dreams, Karan Sharma. For the unversed, the duo got married in an intimate ceremony in Jaipur on March 2, 2024. Well, Surbhi and Karan had managed to keep their relationship under wraps for more than 10 years, and it was their wedding pictures which broke the internet in split seconds. Notably, it was the bride, Surbhi’s unconventional choice of minimal outfit and styling for her grand day that set inspiration for many brides out there.
In a recent interaction with Instant Bollywood, Surbhi Chandna decoded her minimal wedding look and talked about why she wanted to style so subtly for the same. The actress divulged that she ditched the traditional colour palettes of reds and pinks when it came to her wedding ensemble and instead chose a teal green-hued lehenga for the same. Moreover, she revealed how she had a hilarious fight with her mother, who objected her plans of having a minimal mehendi design on her palms. In her words:
“White, sea green or teal green, whatever the colour is. I don’t know yaar. Mujhe mehendi ka bhi shauq nahi hai and maine pehle hi bola tha ki main mehendi bhi nahi lagaungi. Mummy ne kaha mehendi nahi lagaogi beta toh padegi. Toh maine badi aise hi, maine kaha jo bhi mehendi karengi dot-dot lagegi. One, two, three, four-mehendi is done. If you see my mehendi its barely anything.”

Moving further in the interaction, Surbhi Chandna spoke about her choice of chooda which weren’t the red ones. She dismissed speculations about wearing white ones and instead clarified that hers were of a very faded pink hue. Moreover, she remarked how she didn’t follow traditions of letting her mama or maternal uncle choose her chooda and instead did it herself. She said:
“I wanted chooda also, not the red typical chooda. Logon ko na yeh bhi laga ki mummy ne allow kaise kiya because its ivory colour. Its not ivory guys, it is a very light pink, it’s a baby pink colour, nobody wears it. There’s other darker pink that people wear. Bolte hai na mama select karte hai, maine kaha mama ko bolna aap paise bas de dena, select main kardungi. Jab meri pre-wedding hui thi, I picked up this.”
In an earlier interaction with Bollywood Bubble, Surbhi Chandna spoke about making her singing debut with her very own wedding song, titled Kahani Suno. The actress revealed that it was her hubby, Karan Sharma’s idea and added how she sounded hideous during the first few sessions of recording it. Surbhi stated that after hearing it, she wanted to back out of the plans, but Karan convinced her to sing the song based on the lyrics he composed.

Previously, in another interview with Pinkvilla, Surbhi Chandna discussed why she kept her relationship with Karan Sharma hidden from the public eye for as long as 13 years. The actress stated that it wasn’t a purposely planned, conscious decision. Moreover, she revealed dropping hints, that only her close friends and selected fans guessed about. In her words:
“Everybody kept asking how did I do this. Because you’ve done such successful shows and people are curious to know. I had given enough hints and my fans already knew. The industry friends knew.”
