This year, as the world gears up to witness another spectacular celebration of fashion, the official hosts of the Met Gala announced its unique theme.
Taking to their official IG handle, Vogue dropped the much-awaited announcement of Met Gala 2024’s theme. The event, which would be held on May 6, 2024, will feature the theme of Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. From the introductory clip shared, one can expect to witness fashion picks that would possibly be derived from a lot of elements pertaining to nature and flowers.

A few moments back, fashion critic, Diet Sabya took to their stories and re-shared the Met Gala 2024’s theme-announcement clip, where he offered some interesting insights into what type of fashion picks can be expected for the fashion exhibit segment. Well, the concept of ‘Sleeping Beauties’ would specifically reflect those outfits which are so fragile, that they can only be worn once. However, apart from the exhibits, the celebrities gracing the red carpet will have to follow the dress code of the ‘Garden Of Time’, that would include outfits ranging from florals, archival designs, vintage, and garden-themed mood board.
Last year, the Met Gala 2023’s theme paid a tribute to late maestro of fashion, Karl Lagerfeld, whose creations over the decades were immortalized through the exhibits of the event. Moreover, several celebrities from across the globe kept in sync with the dress code and made their stunning appearances. For instance, Alia Bhatt made her Met Gala debut last year, and it was dreamy outfit that caught everyone’s attention. Crafted by the eminent designer, Prabal Gurung, Alia’s pearl-adorned gown paid tribute to Lagerfeld’s classic Chanel gowns. The outfit was made of a 100,000 pearls, all hand-made and woven in India.

Talking about India, every fashion onlooker of the country waits with bated breath to capture their favourite celebrities raise the heat at the iconic steps of the Met Gala 2024. Among the regulars, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra Jonas have been two such divas whose presence in the event has captured attention globally. However, if reports are to be believed, neither of the two would be a part of Met Gala this year.
While Priyanka Chopra, in one of her interviews with Access Hollywood, revealed that she wouldn’t attend this year’s Met Gala owing to her shooting schedules, Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, stated that two of her films, Kalki 2928 AD and Singham 3 will have shooting dates colliding with that of the Met Gala. Well, it is needless to state that both the divas had pulled off some effortlessly stunning looks for their appearances at the Met Gala in previous years.
