In an old interview back in 2013, Rohit Sharma sat for an interview with Filmfare, wherein he divulged details about his love for cinema. When asked about his favourite Bollywood actors, he took the names of Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshay Kumar. Talking about his favourite actress, Rohit mentioned that he loves the acting skills of Vidya Balan and Deepika Padukone. He also remarked that Kareena Kapoor Khan is his celebrity crush. Rohit said that he is crazy about Kareena and has watched all of the actress' films. Rohit can be quoted as saying:
"She is very beautiful. I’ve always had a crush on her. I’m crazy about her. I’ve seen all her films."

In the same interview, Rohit Sharma revealed that once, while shooting for a commercial, the director had complimented him by saying he has a photogenic face, thereby advising him to try his hands at films. Rohit also stated that the director had expressed his wish to work with the cricketer, but he didn't have enough time to do the same. Rohit remarked that if he would work in any film, he would like to work with Kareena Kapoor opposite him. In Rohit's words:
"Once, when I was shooting for a commercial, the director told me that I have a very photogenic face. He said that I should do acting and that he’d like to work with me. But honestly, I don’t have time. I don’t even get time for myself. At present, I can’t think of anything apart from cricket. This is just the beginning of my career. But, in future, if I get a chance, I’ll think about it, and I’d like to have Kareena Kapoor as my co-star. She’s my favourite. I like all her films.”
