Talking about Chand Burke’s acting career, she made her debut in the film, Kahan Gaye (1946), which Maheshwari Productions produced. However, after the partition, Chand worked on several films which were made in Lahore. Courtesy of her beautiful dance, she got the title ‘the dancing lily of Punjab’. However, after the partition in 1947, Chand migrated to Bombay (now Mumbai), which had a major impact on her acting career.

After ending her first marriage with the director, Niranjan, Chand Burke gave love another chance in her life. The actress met renowned businessman, Sundar Singh Bhavnani, and the two instantly hit off. It was in 1955 Chand and Sundar got married. The couple welcomed two kids, Tonya and Jagjit. While there’s not much info about Tonya, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani followed in his father's footsteps and became an entrepreneur.

Jagjit Singh Bhavnani is married to Anju Bhavnani, and they are parents of Bollywood actor, Ranveer Singh and Ritika Bhavnani, who prefers to stay away from the media limelight.
