But did you know Nayanthara started her journey in the showbiz world with her birth name? Yes! You read that right. Nayanthara's birth name was Diana Mariam Kurian. She adopted the name Nayanthara after embracing Hinduism, leaving behind her original religion of Christianity. On the other hand, the gorgeousness started off her career as a Television host on the popular Malayalam fashion and lifestyle show, Chamayam. Recently, a throwback video from Nayanthara's TV show, Chamayam, went viral on social media. In the video, Nayanthara was dressed in a floral-printed black and red outfit with simple makeup and a tiny bindi on her forehead. The video featured a small clip from her stint on the show, and it was simply unmissable.
As soon as the video was shared, netizens started commenting on her appearance. While an Instagram user said the 38-year-old actor looked ‘unrecognisable’, some others praised her for the 'remarkable transformation'. While one user mentioned, "She has changed a lot over the years. Today, she is known as the 'Lady Superstar’ of south Indian cinema", another comment read, "Money changes everything."

According to multiple reports, Nayanthara's TV show, Chamayam got her nominated for her debut film, Manassinakkare. She was spotted by the ace director, Sathyan Anthikkad during the show. In addition, her photograph in a magazine, featuring her as a model for a jewellery ad also caught Sathyan's attention. However, when the diva was offered the role of 'Gauri' in the film, she agreed to do just that one film, but as destiny had some other plans, she went on to rule and win hearts. The Malayalam film, Manassinakkare, became a big hit in 2003, marking the beginning of Nayanthara's stardom.
Then, Nayanthara made her debut in Tamil cinema with the film, Ayya in 2005 and in Telugu cinema with the film, Lakshmi in 2006. Besides work, she is also enjoying a beautiful time with her director husband, Vignesh Shivan and their twin baby boys, Uyir and Ulag.
