Navjot Singh Sidhu does not need any introduction as he is one of the mavericks of Indian cricketing history. Sidhu began his cricketing career in 1981-82. Known for hitting multiple sixes, the cricketer earned the name ‘Sixer Sidhu’. Navjot Singh Sidhu first met Navjot Kaur while she was pursuing M.B.B.S, and as per him, it was love at first sight. Awestruck by her beauty, Sidhu fell head-over-heels in love with Navjot Kaur. To woo her, he used to wait for hours outside her home as she returned from college. And as luck would have it, Navjot Kaur noticed him one day.
Navjot Kaur once appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show and revealed her love story. Stating how she encountered the same guy standing outside her home as she returned from college, Navjot Kaur said:
“Main jab college se aati thi dopahar mein. Main jab ghar enter karti hun to ek permanent sa shakhs dekh raha hai. To aapko lagta hai ek hi banda khada hai roz roz dopahar mein. Kuch gadbad hai.”
After a lot of wooing, Navjot Kaur also fell in love with Sidhu, and they decided to get married. However, it was Sidhu, who delayed the same as he wanted to show their janam patri to a pundit. The cricketer kept waiting for his ladylove for almost a year. In the same show, Navjot talked about the same and said:
“Pahle to pataane mein itna time. Jab maine haan kardi, uske baad saal bhi beet gaya. Bola maine janam patri dikhani hai, wo mil gayi to shaadi hogi."

Navjot Singh Sidhu and Navjot Kaur tied the nuptial knot in an intimate ceremony in 1991. Only their close friends and family members attended the wedding, which took place at Sidhu’s birthplace in Patiala. Soon, pictures from their intimate wedding started hitting the newspapers. Soon, the adorable couple hopped on to parenthood with the arrival of their son, Karan and their daughter, Rabia.
Sidhu and his wife were quite active in politics and had seats in the Amritsar government. Navjot Kaur, who was elected to the assembly in 2012 as a BJP candidate, announced her resignation in 2016. On the other hand, Sidhu began his political career in 2004 as a BJP candidate and later formed a new political party called 'Aawaaz-e-Punjab'. In 2017, he joined the Indian National Congress.

It was in 2006 when Navjot Kaur filed a complaint against her husband, Sidhu accusing him of domestic violence. In March 2023, Navjot Kaur was diagnosed with Stage 2 invasive cancer, and since then, Navjot has been standing with her as her strength. During her fifth chemotherapy, Sidhu posted a picture, in which he was seen spoon-feeding Navjot. Despite the challenges, the couple showed courage and fought the deadly disease. In April 2024, Navjot Kaur underwent surgery for her breast cancer, and Navjot Singh Sidhu shared a post and called the operation 'rarest of rare Metastasis'.
Navjot Singh Sidhu and Navjot Kaur are the perfect example of an ideal couple. They not only laughed together but also passed all the testing phases of their lives with pride. Within the course of time, their love for each other has only grown stronger.
