It was in 2007, when Bollywood diva, Deepika Padukone made her Bollywood debut with the film, Om Shanti Om. With her debut film, Deepika garnered a lot of love and appreciation. At the same time, cricketer, MS Dhoni hit the headlines for leading India to victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup.
But do you know, that the captain cool, Dhoni was head-over-heels in love with the leggy lass, Deepika? After Deepika Padukone’s debut film’s release, MS Dhoni reportedly confessed his crush on her and even asked Shah Rukh Khan for a special screening of the film. Not just this, Deepika was also spotted cheering for Dhoni in the stands at a T20 match against Australia.

Reports also had it that Dhoni chopped his hair as Deepika asked him to do so. Speculations were rife that the duo was so much involved with each other that they even contemplated getting engaged. However, when cricketer Yuvraj Singh entered the picture, Deepika and Dhoni’s love story took a backseat. Deepika’s name started getting linked with Yuvraj, and to save his friendship with Yuvi, Dhoni distanced himself from Deepika.
Deepika Padukone and Yuvraj Singh became good friends initially and then started dating each other. They were often spotted together at events and date nights, and Deepika was often spotted cheering for Yuvraj during his matches. However, their relationship was short-lived, and the duo broke up. There were rumours that Deepika broke up with Yuvraj as she found him possessive. In a media interaction, Deepika had also claimed that Yuvraj would interfere with her work, and it created a lot of chaos.

Later, in a media interaction, Yuvraj cited the reason for his breakup with Deepika. Talking about the same, he stated that the actress moved on and found comfort in the arms of Ranbir Kapoor. Calling it her personal choice, Yuvi said:
“Well, she was with me and now she's moved on with another person. I guess it's her personal choice. If someone wants to move out of a relationship, there isn't much that the other person can do. I am not blaming anyone but just stating the facts."
While scrolling through our social media, we got our hands on a throwback video of Deepika Padukone performing at the opening ceremony of IPL. The highlight of the whole video was MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh’s presence. While Deepika grooved to the song, ‘Chor Bazaari’ from the film, Love Aaj Kal, Yuvraj was seen teasing Dhoni, who could not stop blushing.
