The cult film, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha gave us an iconic pair of Ajay Devgn and Kajol. It was during the making of this film when Ajay and Kajol’s reel love story turned real, and the two fell head-over-heels in love with one another. As the film completed 25 years, actress, Kashmera Shah, who was also a part of the film revealed an incident from the shoot.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Kashmera Shah recalled how Bijay, who played the role of Kajol’s love interest in the film, was spoiling a kissing scene, which had to retake again and again. Recalling the same, Kashmera said:
“25 years ago, kissing onscreen was a very big deal but I agreed because it was the need of the script. But unfortunately, that scene took a lot of retakes as it had to be done in an elevator and Anand was not doing it right. The shot had to be such that Anand’s angle and movement was very important but he kept on getting it wrong.”

In the same interview, Kashmera also revealed how Ajay and Kajol got frustrated, and it was Ajay who came to her rescue and stated:
“Ajay and Kajol got very uncomfortable because of it and Ajay came to Bijay and said, ‘I can’t make this girl do this scene again and again. Why don’t you damn stand on your mark’. It was uncomfortable for them to make me do it so many times and hence they took a stand for me. This was a very nice gesture from their side.”
In another scene, Kashmera was supposed to slap Bijay and taking advantage of the situation, she gave a tight slap on his face. Sharing details of the same, Kashmera revealed:
“And I gave him a tight slap. Later, he came to me and in front of everyone said ‘Don’t you know how to cheat a slap’ . I replied ‘Didn’t you know how to cheat a kiss’. That was my moment. The entire unit clapped and I had tear in my eyes.”

It was reported that Kajol and Ajay Devgn’s love story started during the shooting of the film, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha as the two spent a lot of time together. During an interview which took years after their marriage revealed that both actors were in other relationships before the shoot began. The duo later ended their respective relationships and fell for one another.
