Something similar happened back in 2014 when Kareena Kapoor was asked about her views on Mangalyaan, which was successfully launched back then. The actress clearly had no idea about the scientific achievements of the Indian scientists back then, which landed her in controversies.
August 23, 2023, was a historic day for India, as the scientists at ISRO made the entire nation proud by successfully landing Chandrayaan-3 on the surface of the moon. For the unversed, India became the fourth country to land on the moon, while it was the first one to land near the lunar south pole. Now, social media is filled with congratulatory messages for the ISRO scientists, and in the meantime, netizens have dug up the old video of Kareena Kapoor Khan, creating a stir on social media.

In the viral video, Kareena Kapoor was seen addressing the media at an event. Meanwhile, a reporter asked the actress about her reaction to India's achievement in launching the Mangalyaan satellite into orbit of Mars, and said, ''Space me Mangalyaan gaya hai". However, Bebo looked unaware of the great achievement and also asked the reporter to speak in English. The 42-year-old actress said, ''Acha'', and when the rest of the question was translated into English, Kareena Kapoor said:
''That's a very scientific question and that's a great day for us."
At the end of the video, the actress stated that she also wanted to go to space. This statement left the netizens embarrassed, as it was a weird moment back then and even now. Kareena was heard saying:
''I also want to go to space."
Now that the video has resurfaced on the internet, the netizens are shocked to hear Kareena Kapoor's dumb answer. Reacting to the same, one user commented, "Looool what is this? Poor lady is just trying to sell shampoo pls stop". Meanwhile, another user wrote, "This lady went to 'Panchvi paas se tez hai' and embarrassed herself there. However, it looks like this time, Kareena Kapoor Khan knew about the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon. Taking to her IG stories, Bebo congratulated ISRO and reposted the landing updates on her social media. The actress also expressed her happiness on the achievement and revealed she was having a proud day. Her note could be read as:
"What an amazing and stellar touchdown! Proud proud proud!"
