Koffee With Karan 8 has been hitting the headlines for some time now. The show already featured some of the best names in B-Town, including Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Sidharth Malhotra, among others. However, people are curious to know if Shah Rukh Khan, who was a key part of most Koffee With Karan seasons, will return to the show this season. Now, Karan Johar revealed that the superstar might not appear on the show.
During a press conference, Karan Johar answered the most-asked question about his show, Koffee With Karan 8, and revealed if Shah Rukh Khan will appear on the show. Talking about the same, he said that since the megastar is like family to him, he has the leverage to ask him to do so. However, KJo shared that he never asked Shah Rukh to appear on the show and added:
“I just know that if there is any megastar who has earned his right to speak when he needs to, it is Shah Rukh Khan. I, of all the people, have been his closest friend and family and should understand that. I have that leverage because he is family to me. I can ask him and request him. He has never said no to me. So I never asked.”

Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan's friendship needs no introduction, and the duo has been together through thick and thin. Reflecting on his bond with SRK, the filmmaker said that the former means the world to him and never says 'No' to anything. However, Karan mentioned that when the time is right, he will ask him to appear on the show and added:
“Because I know he didn’t want to be in that situation where he has to say no to me. I pick and choose what I ask for. He is somebody who matters the world to me. He is family to me. He is my older brother, he is everything. I know when the time is right, I will ask him. And I know when he wants to speak, he will.”
Karan further mentioned that SRK has the most exceptional oratory skills and that he is a wizard of words. Heaping praises on the megastar, KJo added that Shah Rukh is an emperor both on-screen and off-screen and also mentioned that they all have a lot of collective love for King Khan because of the man he is. In his words:
“Nobody speaks better than him. When he speaks on a global platform or a national platform, he is just the wizard of words. He is truly the emperor not just on screen but off screen. There’s a lot of collective love for him because of the man he has been to us off screen.”

While fans terribly miss Shah Rukh Khan on Koffee With Karan, Karan Johar shared that he doesn’t miss him on the show. Revealing the reason behind the same, he said that he has his own, private Koffee With Karan with SRK and his family almost every evening. He further added:
“I don’t miss him that way, because I have Koffee with Karan with him every night. Almost every evening, Shah Rukh, Gauri, his family and I meet. I’m having those conversations. I understand why you might miss him, but I’m satiated because he’s a big, huge part of my existence."
The new episode of Koffee With Karan 8 airs every Thursday on Disney+ Hotstar.
