Diljit Dosanjh is a popular face in the Punjabi entertainment industry and has even marked his place in Bollywood. While his professional front is always in the limelight, the actor-singer has been fiercely private about his personal life. Of late, Diljit has been hitting the headlines for the rumours of his marriage, and if reports are to be believed, he is a father to a son.
While Diljit Dosanjh has not shed too much light on his personal life, his Amar Singh Chamkila co-star, Anjum Batra reacted to the former's marriage rumours. In an interview with Bollywood Now, the actor, who played the role of Tabla player, 'Kesar Singh Tiki', said that while he is unaware of Diljit’s marital status, he can reveal why the latter shields his personal life. Talking about the same, he said:
“I don’t want to comment on this subject because I don’t know. But there is one thing about Diljit, he also shared it on the sets of Amar Singh Chamkila, many years ago, because of a song he released, there were protests outside his house. Since then, he has been over protective about his family. This is why he is lowkey about his personal life and keeps them away from the spotlight.”

There is no denying that Diljit Dosanjh is overprotective of his family and wants to shield them from media scrutiny. While the singer-actor is yet to comment on the subject of his marriage, he did reveal that he is not close to his parents. Earlier, in a conversation with YouTuber, Ranveer Allahbadia, Diljit recalled that he shared a strained relationship with his parents as they had sent him to live with his maternal uncle so that he could get a better standard of living. However, they did not ask Diljit if he was okay with their decision, which negatively impacted his bond with his parents.
Diljit Dosanjh has always maintained that he will not speak publicly about his family as he wishes to secure his good-boy persona. However, in an interaction with The Indian Express, the singer's friends shed light on his personal life. A source, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the singer is married to an American-Indian woman and they are blessed with a son. Diljit's friend said:
“An intensely private person, little is known about his family but friends say his wife is an American-Indian and they have a son, and his parents live in Ludhiana.”

Meanwhile, a report by Times Now stated that Diljit Dosanjh and his wife, Sandeep Kaur, parted ways in 2017. An insider revealed that the duo is not together and even has hard feelings for one another. Though Diljit and Sandeep tried their best to mend their relationship, it was to no avail. After realising that there were no chances of reconciliation, the once-in-love couple decided to get a divorce. However, Diljit never confirmed or denied the report.
