On March 30, 2022, Karan Johar took to his Instagram handle and shared a video, while promoting a matrimonial site that has been built exclusively for the IIT and IIM alumni. In the video, Karan Johar can be heard saying:
"They invite alumni of the top 10-15 colleges from all fields to register and find a match amongst each other!"
As soon as the video was uploaded, netizens bombarded his comment section with harsh notes. The director got brutally trolled for his choice of endorsement. One of the netizens wrote, “Are you serious?? If this isn't a joke then you are by endorsing this ridiculous platform”. Another commented, “This whole concept is so offensive.. Are they trying to say that an IIT/IIM alumni will be mentally compatible only with another IIT/IIM alumni?! Ridiculous!”

For the unversed, in 2017, Karan Johar had welcomed his twin babies, a son and a daughter, Yash and Roohi, through surrogacy, and he shares a beautiful bond with them. Karan often takes to his Instagram profile to share a few glimpses of himself with his kids.

On the professional front, Karan Johar is all set to direct his upcoming film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.
