Shehzad Khan, son of the acclaimed Bollywood actor, Ajit Khan, rose to immense popularity with his role in the cult classic film, Andaz Apna Apna. Apart from the 1994 film, he has worked in close to 200 films, which include Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Dhartiputra, Barsaat, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and many more. In a recent interview, Shehzad Khan talked about various aspects of his personal and professional life.
During an interaction with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, the 57-year-old actor opened up about his stint in Andaz Apna Apna and the overall atmosphere on the set while they were shooting for it. For those who don’t know, the Aamir Khan-Salman Khan starrer film was released 30 years ago and is still considered one of the greatest films produced in Bollywood. Shehzad Khan was asked by the host if there was any rift between the two male leads.

The actor, who played the role of ‘Bhalla’ in the movie, revealed that there used to be some sort of rift between Aamir and Salman. He said that given the stardom of the two leads and their different personalities, things would happen between Aamir and Salman. Shehzad Khan further said he often used to become a bridge between the two lead actors. He revealed:
“Sirf feel nahi kiya, aankhon se dekha hai. Kayi bar aisi cheezein hoti thi, ab Salman is Salman and Aamir is Aamir, I will not blame any of them. Hamare director sahab, aur director toh captain hota hai ship ka, kayi bar toh main inke beech bridge banta tha, toh cheezein nipat jati thi.”
Further in the interaction, the 57-year-old actor shared that Aamir Khan was such a punctual individual that he used to arrive at 7 am for the shoot which was supposed to start at 9 am. He further said that even if there were differences between their personalities, no one could find a mistake in their acting skills. He shared:
“Aamir toh 9 ki shift mein subah 7 baje Mud Island ke bunglow mein pahunch jata tha. Aur hum log Bandra, khair wo bhi Bandra se hi aata tha par wo riding practice karta tha aur wahan se wo seedhe set pe aa jate the. Par performance toh dono ke bohot shaandar hai, koi ye nahi keh sakta ki ye 32 take hai aur ye 1 take hai. Salman apne wahi time pe bechare 10-11 baje tak aa hi jaate the.”

Shehzad Khan defended his dear friend, Salman Khan and said that commuting from Bandra used to be really difficult. The host further inquired if Aamir ever confronted Salman for coming late on the sets. The actor mentioned that he never saw the two confronting each other or getting into heated arguments with one another on the set. He said that he had no idea if the two ever had a word on the same with the producer or the director of the film.
Siddharth Kannan asked about Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor’s dynamics on the sets of Andaz Apna Apna. Shehzad Khan instantly replied they were really good. Further highlighting their bonds on the set, the actor shared that the entire cast was pampered so much by the producer, Vinay Sinha.
