"Hello, pleasure to meet you."
However, fans have been questioning Zendaya's gesture of just shaking hands and not getting up to greet her. Users on X shared their thoughts. One user wrote, "Zendaya, girl. You gotta get up when the First Lady of France is trying to say hello to you." Another one claimed that it didn't matter who the guest was, but standing to greet someone is basic manners.
A user on X agreed that it was rude on Zendaya's part, and wrote, "Definitely rude! Never shake someone’s hand while seated! Guess she didn’t learn that." Another commented, "Yeah, she needs to work on her etiquette big time. Those folks could make or break her career and buy her many times over. I like her but she is a symptom of what has befallen the U.S. A lack of respect for others."

A user pointed out, "Even to not get up to shake Mr Arnaults hand lol he’s owns LVMH. That dude is the owner of the LVMH group; that's who she should stand for. He owns the whole fashion industry."
Others even noted that it is customary to get up to an greet older person or someone with a higher status, especially when they approach. Others defended, Zendaya and stated that why she should stand up as she is not a foreign dignitary or a citizen of France. A user commented:
"I don’t believe in too much protocol etc… since she wasn’t introduced as the First Lady of France attending the event. What matters to me is she is polite and gave her a sweet smile. I’d rather have genuine expressions than put on a facade. Because if you think about it – it’s a fashion show."
